Too fat to ride - is it worth the risk?

I haven't ever taken my children (10 and 16) to a theme park but my 10yr old REALLY wants to go and try out some rollercoasters now that she is over the min height limits for them.
I'm thinking about booking a break to Alton Towers but I just wondered what larger ladies experiences have been? I am a 22/24 (5ft6) and the thought of my girls witnessing me being told I am too big to ride makes me incredibly anxious.

Do you have to go on with them?

the bigger ones at Alton towers have try out seats in front of them, so you can see.
DS is too tall for one of them (I forget which).
The kids can just go on the rides without you though.

Fair point but it would be nice to be involved in the experience with them.

Some of the rollercoasters a AT have a bigger seat available.

I am size 20ish and been fine on the rides. Had to use a key to lock me in one ride though.

I'm a big girl
I'm 6ft, 17st(size adult 12,13 feet as well)

i was 18.7-19 at my heaviest(ive severe PCOS) but didn't look it as i was solid and not fat and have 44 J/K cup boobs

im convinced that's were a lot or weight is

at 19 st i was a 22 bottom but 28-30 top, no where near that big but it was for the boobs

ive been to all the theme parks many times and never had a problem
ive done Disneyland at 19 st and had no problems at all

on one occasion at DL with the over head bars he had trouble pushing it down to connect so i said hang on, unclipped my bra and he had no problem then. he was only about 18/19 and he went so red but it worked

loads said good on you when i got off, even people you didn't speak English i wouldnt have had the balls to do that but my kid couldn't go alone and i love rides so it wasn't stopping me

its all down to body shape,
my friend came with us one time to alton towers she was 5ft about 15 st but a complete round shape ,its all on her thighs and bum she couldn't fit in to the seats where as i was 19st and had plenty of space

99.9% of the big rides have a tester seat now or say a weight and height limit

Bigger girl here too. I was absolutely fine. There was one ride though, where they had to push the bar in so tight that my tummy felt squashed. I'm glad they did it for safety, don't get me wrong, but it felt a bit uncomfortable and claustrophobic!
Never again for me, but that's just a general comment unrelated to weight. I did it for my daughter. It blows my mind that people actually enjoy these things Grin

If it's the big rides you're going on I wouldn't worry. I'm a big girl and take my kid round cbeebies land at Alton Towers. I've managed to fit in all of the kids rides.
