I see some videos on tik tok of dancing and singing etc - is this a thing ? Seems some people are moaning about it in comments.
are the cinemas actively liking /encouraging it or does it depend on if everyone agrees who is there watching and it could be as simple as having to sit and watch in silence ?
my 10 year of DD wants to go but she expects dancing and singing 🤣

DD saw it yesterday, lost her voice as everyone was singing along the whole time.

I'm too annoyed to see it in the cinemas given that I have tickets for a performance next year. Seems unfair to pull it out the bag when the tour isn't even over.

BarbedButterfly · 16/10/2023 07:22

We went and loved it. Everyone was singing (not screaming/shouting) and dancing in their seats. Was full on Friday evening. Managed to get mu cup and popcorn bucket, which is now a plant holder.

Rockbird · 16/10/2023 07:59

@EmmaEmerald SW London/Surrey borders 😀

We also have tickets for next year at huge expense but I don't think seeing it on a screen and seeing it live are remotely the same thing.

We took 14 year old DD to see it yesterday afternoon.

She was disappointed in the lack of other people at the screening, zero atmos, and they'd run out of the merch the day before apparently. But she absolutely loved it, and DH and I actually enjoyed it too, thankfully!

I thought that the cinema could have made more of it. There were no posters etc in the foyer, no TS music playing, absolutely no buzz whatsoever, it seemed very flat, but it's a great show.

We were in the screen next door to a showing on Saturday night and could hear the screaming and singing coming from Taylor that it did interrupt our showing. I could see a few people go out during our film, don’t know if it was to complain, but when we were leaving the screen staff were standing there apologising for the disruption and offering a free ticket. We were using our cinema card anyway so while annoying it wasn’t a big deal money wise. Considering how much the cinema is these days I could understand why others were pissed

Must admit in all the years of going to the cinema I have never been disrupted by another screen before

Homeymum2 · 16/10/2023 08:17

Kids tickets were supposed to be 13.13 as 13 is apparently important in Taylor swift traditions

I think the lack of ambiance at many screenings is a result of sooooo many viewings - not likely every viewing at every cinema is going to be a sold out concert vibe

Thanks, I'm prepared to trek about for a quiet showing so later on I'll sit and look at places where I think there might be three or four people booked in.

DD1 works at cineworld and they were not allowed to advertise or post about it so couldn't promote it at all.
It's all controlled by Taylor Swifts company.
On the one hand I really admire her business prowess but on the other I think it's a shame.
DD2 came home to see it on Friday with her sister and started crying in the middle of Love story (I think!) because she'd suddenly realised she'd left her bed ted at uni 😂
On a plus it's the first time she's deigned to come home since she started so i will thank Taylor for that!

I am amazed Taylor Swift can sing for so long as I get a sore throat from singing out loud at home whilst cleaning and listening to music for an hour 😬

itsmylife7 · 16/10/2023 19:24

Excuse my ignorance but is this like a recording of her concert ?

I saw it advertised when I was taking GC to Paw patrol film 😩

Challengingtimesnow · 17/10/2023 01:47

@ShitMermaid Her voice does crack at times 😊
Not much, just a couple.

Apparently the tickets are 19.89 because of the album title-

Us suckers paid £19.89 while in the states it was only $19.89

Taylor set the price not the cinema

I'm in the states and the cheapest I've seen tickets for is $21.89 ( and then they add tax and booking fee on top!) and imax is $35!

Having seen the film, I’m pretty sure she’s miming (or relying very heavily) on a backing track during several songs. Can’t blame her, it’s a very long, very physical show and a very long tour, and she needs to protect her voice.
