Dominos, I'm looking at you.

Almost every fragrance ad, but especially the nauseating "Daisy, Daisy, Daisy."
Fuck off, fuck off, fuck off.

Magnum ice creams. The adverts where they bite into it. The crunch noise makes me want to smash something. I don’t know why it gives me so much rage. I used to mute it if I ever saw it on.

GoodOldEmmaNess · 10/10/2023 13:03

OOOh, I love that crunch. They must have spent £££ on focus groups and other ways of researching its appeal. You must have especially fine-tuned auditory pleasure/rage response mechanisms Bella.

Daisy, daisy, daisy, I Hate that one too. I've seen a new version of this where they say " perfect, perfect, perfect " in the same silly whispery voices 🤐

I haven't shopped in Tesco since 1994 further to a truly awful advert in which a girl put on a Tesco dress, rode a horse to a party, binned the dress on arrival because it was muddy and put a new one on. I was appalled in many ways but the sheer profligacy and disregard for the clothes, those who made them, and nod to the quality of the product put me off for life. Their values stink and I have seen nothing from them to change my mind over the last 30 years.

I don't think I'd ever go to We Buy Any Car

Really confuses the dog too!

Snag.

Lindt chocolate ads....
Attractive, highly manicured up-together woman (no blimping out in joggers) eats chocolate made by male chocolatier (always a man with his special very important chocolatier hat), sometimes in a dimly candlelit room on the sofa whilst wearing cashmere and tipping her head back and closing her eyes, mmmm.....
Fucks me right off!

There was an advert for the Dr. Pepper drink years ago where they had a tag line of something like ‘Dr. Pepper, what’s the worst that can happen?’ and then in the advert someone would pick one up and something catastrophic would happen like loads of stuff falling on them and being taken away on a stretcher etc. I’ve literally never bought Dr. Pepper since. It gave me ‘what if. . . . .?’ anxiety!

@QuizzlyBears the models that are used. I'm absolutely in favour of body positivity. But many of the girls are morbidly obese. You wouldn't use a very underweight model.

So you won't buy snag tights because they make sizes that fit fat people, and dare to show fat people actually wearing them? And I am very sure many models used in ads have been very underweight. I mean.. seriously????
Wow.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/10/2023 14:25

It's more the way that being an unhealthy weight is celebrated as a good thing. These girls presumably have disordered eating as much as someone with Anorexia or Bulimia do.

SkiingIsHeaven · 10/10/2023 14:26

Haribo's and the stupid baby voices of grown adults. I have always stopped buying them. Plus they are disgusting.

Ihateboris · 10/10/2023 14:39

Any perfume advert 😡....especially Daisy by Marc Jacobs. 😡

GoodOldEmmaNess · 10/10/2023 14:51

I love the Haribo ads! Would never dream of eating the things though. If I wanted to eat something that colourful I would choose something less toxic, like crayons or felt tips.

Newname2308 · 10/10/2023 14:57

Verisure alarms - how do they find such terrible actors and ad writers?! I couldn’t have confidence in their product/service.

Hate those ads. The lips closing round the chocolate put me right off.

Nanny0gg · 10/10/2023 19:14

I concur with every one of these!
