Dw and I are expecting our first child (21 weeks) and both very excited about it. Dw has always said how supportive and helpful I have been, have taken on far more of the general cleaning and have always done the cooking anyway.
I am a member of a bike club and we have our annual social event in Fort william, (we live in London).
Dw has insisted I go, and she will go to her mums for the week. Initially I agreed, but am now getting a bit of cold feet, event is at end of May, we are due in July.

Am I bonkers to go?, need some feminine perspective

I'm envious of your dw for having a thoughtful and sensitive husband.

I'd say go now while you can and your dw is probably thinking the same but not wanting to scare you about how this sort of thing will generally be far far less acceptable after baby arrives.

But her something nice and Scottish for the baby whilst you are away to show that you are still thinking of them or book her a pampering day at a spa before the birth to show how much you appreciated your little break.

Go and enjoy it! It will not be easily possible once LO arrives.

Due date is ages away, so if there is no medical problem, no problem.

I would go it is ages until the due date.

Thankyou for all your kind responses. I had already planned a wee visit to Skye Silver to pick up a wee trinket.
I think I'm just being over anxious, I just want to do everything I can for my beautiful wife and the wee one.

Thankyou again mumsnetters

Roll on 6 days with my other honey, R1150GS Adventure (Elise) (the same as that pillock McGregor and his luvvie mate rode on the 'Long Way Round' a few years back.

Go, go, go and enjoy. Your wife is a lucky woman to have someone who gives her so much consideration.

You're gonna be a great dad if this is anything to go by! As other posters have said, do it while you can. It won't be so easy when you've got the little one.

Did'nt go in the end, a few hospital visits (but everything is absolutely fine). Stayed at home and painted the spare room instead. Made a stonker of a curry though!
