I should first disclose that I cannot drive. However this is due to poor vision & peripheral vision, rather than a desire to cadge free lifts off everyone else for a lifetime.
I live in a converted block of flats. There is off-street parking out front. The number of spaces is fewer than the number of flats, but generally its not a problem as not everyone has a car. We operate a first come, first park system, with an assumption of fairness. As in, one car per flat, if you need a skip you move your car for it, and generally don't be an arse.
Today a giant motor home has appeared. It's so big that it blocks the entire pavement. So I (or anyone else) would have to step into the (busy just off the South Circular) road to pass.
I've only recently graduated from pushchair life and this sort of parking gives me the fucking rage. But I dont drive or - by extension - park.
So AIBU for thinking anyone who parks like this - let's give them 10 minutes grace - is an arsehole who doesn't care about anyone else, let alone people with pushchairs, wheelchairs, mobility problems, sight problems, etc. Or is this just how it goes when you're parking a motor home?
I assume the owners are either visiting a flat or are the current crop of bloody AirBnBers.
And if I am not being unreasonable, what should I do? Email all flats? Note on monstrosity vehicle? Cat shit up the exhaust? All ideas welcome.
