To ask a stupid question about marmalade

Does anyone know whether it is possible to buy that really flavoursome dark marmalade WITHOUT the peel in it?

I love the flavour of really good dark marmalade, but I don't like the shreds so I have to pick them all out. It seems such a waste! I know it is possible to buy golden shredless marmalade but it just isn't the same.

Tiptree do a shredless one, my grandmother used to like it, but I don’t know if if would have the strong flavour your looking for. You could make your own!? But it is a faff🤣🤣 to be honest, good luck in your quest.

This one looks yummy, but it is expensive. Could work out cheaper making your own and straining out the shreds?

make your own, instead of cutting off the pith (which goes along with the pips into a muslin bag) and then cutting up the skin to make the peel, just check the whole lot into the bag, It's a lot easier than making regular marmalade.

Seville oranges should be in the shops in the new year.

I'm sure you can but I've not discovered it. I find the ones without rind tasteless.

For the last three decades I do the following. Heat the contents of your favourite marmalade in a pan. Stir until melted.

Put through a warm sieve and put into a clean jar.

As you've not gone through sterilisation process I'd keep in the fridge. You only get half as the peel is a large volume of the final product.

But it's worth it for the flavours of your favourite marmalades.

Thank you for your responses. I will look at the two suggestions, but I won't be making my own. Unfortunately I'm undergoing treatment for cancer at the moment so I'm not even capable of making my usual jams and jellies this year.
(Plus I tried making marmalade years ago and it was a dismal failure!)

Could you chuck it in the liquidiser? It might make it more palatable without losing the taste.

You could gently warm it to liquify it a bit and then sieve/strain it, or ask someone to do it for you if that's too much energy expenditure Flowers
