Married into a southern Italian family. I think he does flourish it sometimes but I don't think it's as fake as some believe. He does seem.to play a persona but much of the time it rings true to us

He went to school in Chelmsford with my big brother. He called himself Gerry Gervais back then, had an accent like he was straight from Billingsgate Fish Market, bottle stop glasses and a pet spider. We were amazed to find out he was actually Italian.

I'm not sure about his accent, but he does appear to have very different personalities. I saw him live a few years ago and fbf it wasn't an experience I'd want to repeat - very misogynistic, sweary and generally inappropriate. I'm not normally fussed about that stuff but for some reason I was quite offended by Gino in a way I've never been before

Unfortunately while redemption for him might be possible, crimes like this have ongoing impacts. I believe he stole recordings of Paul Young’s wife’s voice - after she quite recently died he (PY) said that it’s (paraphrasing) hit home again that he can never hear those again.

I haven't seen him on tv for a while but from memory his accent is quite similar to Frankie Dettori's?

I confess that I always used to laugh at the double entendres on his GMB slot and the way Holly and Phil would be crying with laughter.

But yes, he's likely hamming up his accent and whilst I accept that people do change, his base moral code is clearly a little questionable. Yes, we all do shitty things at times but most of us manage to avoid actual burglary.

We are all lucky he wasn't deported after being in prison then we would've all been deprived of his TV appearances, high street restaurants and excellent culinary skills.
