ok so i took ds1 passport form to the post office to be checked for the second time - my friend hadnt signed his photo properly. saw same woman as i had the other day. previously she asked me why ds dads passport number was not on the form. I said 'because i have no idea if he has a passport as i havent seen or heard from him for 10 years.' she asked what date was the marriage (on form) 'oh i suppose there wasnt one' anyway i bit my tongue took form back to mate for extra signing and returned to po. same woman went through same questions this time asking ' is there no way you can find out if his father has a passport?' i said er no and would she mind asking such personal questions a bit more discretely as packed po was now a deathly silence listening to this exchange. she said ' well i have to ask these things its not my fault you have such messy circumstances' and 'anyway the date you signed the form doesnt match the photo now' and shoved another form at me. grrrgrrr. i took the form to another po 5 miles away they checked it said all fine. this is really long and very boring but aaaargh really bothered me. for all the obvious reasons- touchy subject generally - but please, a bit of sensitivity when asking personal info.

What a bitch, you shouldn't have to put up with that. I'd go in 5 minutes before they close and ask for help filling out a form. Then take as long as you can about it so she's late home to her clean circumstances.

thats mean! you should complain...this explains why they are closing post offices if all the staff are so rude!

she is probably related to the witch at the csa who, several years ago when i claimed benefits for a few weeks before going back to work phoned me to comment at the lack of fathers current address on my benefit form and said oh so you clearly didnt know him that well then (!)...evil cow!!

ooh, glitterball, meeeooowww...that was nasty.

And for op, too- how awful that people think they have a right to comment- they must not give a thought to how hurtful their 'throwaway comments' are.

Not much has changed, my local post office has over charged me just now, previously it was blatant which I challenged but today there was another person in the shop and I was in a rush, it was a small amount but I will never cross that door again.

Another PO miles away, the person got verbally abusive when I asked him to verify a document, the website details that location does it. He said they didn't and then took offence when I said there was no point going through the document because you would not know how to log it on the system because you stated that you have never done it. Not a slight on the person but if you don't know how the PO system scans/logs the job then that's it, game over. I would not even attempt it myself. The person was in road rage territory, shouting etc
