To delete the MN app because of the sudden huge battery drain over the last few days?

Losing 30% charge after 20 minutes on MN 😬 Not cool.

What's wrong with the app? Anyone else having this problem?

Settings ➡️ Battery. You will see how much battery is being used by each app.

To close out apps place your finger at the bottom of your screen and drag to the center of your screen. You don't even have to drag that high honestly.

Same, Mumsnet app background is my biggest battery drain.

I try only to use apps for anything when it’s necessary. Some functions differ if you use Safari etc. but it keeps energy down, no notifications issues plus stops me being on MN etc all the time 😂

I couldn't work out what was going on, I still don't understand how anyone knows it's the app but I am happy it's not my phone. I thought if it said 40% mumsnet that meant 40% of my use has been MN not that it used 40% of my battery

Oh my goodness I've just upgraded my phone to the iPhone 15 and one of the reasons was suddenly it's been getting really hot and the battery has been draining. Didn't occur to me that this app might be doing it. Bugger!

Mine has only used 5% over the last 10 days. I’m on the latest iOS update. Doesn’t seem to be affecting me.

Download and use Opera to access the site. It has a built in ad blocker which kills all the ads.

Wow my battery drain has been dramatic over the last few days and my phone has been hot but I didn't make the link between Mumsnet! Will definitely have to avoid the app until fixed

Try uninstalling and reinstalling.
I had a museum app that done this to my phone. I know it wasn't my phone because all other apps including this app were fine

MN drains the battery on my iPad much faster than any other site I use regularly, eg BBC, Guardian, Telegraph, Times. I thought it was because my iPad is 5 years old, but it’s clear that others are having similar problems.
