4 candidates, 1 role, smashed the interviews.. chances of success?

I know this is a really difficult question to answer but it's very stuck in my head!

I'm applying for my dream job and have had two very promising interviews, nailed the task set for me and had very good feedback on what a strong candidate I am.

There are three other candidates in the pool and I don't know anything about them. What would you say are the chances of success in this scenario if all members of the interview panel loved your CV and performance in interview.

Is it likely this could happen across the board, or is it a sign you're a strong contender?

My stomach is in knots waiting for the outcome, so please humour me with what your view is on this one!

The only time I felt like this about interviews was for the ones where I got the job! It sounds like you did really well and chances of you getting this post are really high - good luck. If for some reason they don’t appoint you then at least you know the interview questions for next time and can feel confident that you did your best and didn’t let yourself down.

Also, sorry that you've had replies from so many wet flannels on here. Aren't people miserable?! Christ alive...

But to reiterate... sounds really positive and I'm looking forward to hearing if you were successful!

Thank you for all the lovely comments everyone, I'm so glad you posted on the thread 😊 I totally agree with what you've said and it's helped turn the mood around for sure. Hopefully this will help out other people stuck in the same limbo as me.

Now for a nice glass of wine. Have a lovely Friday evening everyone!

I think @anyonegotacrystalball4 's mistake was posting in AIBU instead of chat. Nothing that she wrote was arrogant but this board always seems to bring out mega-bitchy responses.

For heaven’s sake, ONE person called her arrogant. Many more took her side. It’s childish to throw a strop about it.

Zenwey · 23/09/2023 09:45

@LyingWitchInTheWardrobe she came on and asked a question. I answered it based on her post and last experience. If people don’t want answers, don’t ask questions on the internet ffs.

@OatsChoc you can worry about whether you want. Doesn’t mean it’s the case. If all panel members can’t get any substantive evidence from any of a candidates answers, then I’m afraid that’s a fail at interview.

@SurprisedWithAHorse pulling down? Don’t see how, just honest based on how it came across. You realise the impressions people make are a thing, right? That’s just the impression I got, if you got a different one, that’s fine too.

SurprisedWithAHorse · 26/09/2023 15:17

That’s just the impression I got, if you got a different one, that’s fine too.

That's very magnanimous of you.

Any news, OP?

bananaxapple · 26/09/2023 21:18

Any update OP?

katepilar · 26/09/2023 21:24

at least 25 percent. surprisingly.

Vanillalime · 09/11/2023 23:49

Hi @anyonegotacrystalball4 did you get the job? 🤞

cleaninglady123 · 10/11/2023 16:45

I think it's higher than 1 in 4. You know you've given a good performance so for it still to be 1/4 then they would have all too had to perform well / get good feedback, which is unlikely.

Good luck OP!

Roiesin57 · 10/11/2023 17:02

I know it's not the point of the interview but I can't stand the phrase "smashed it"

Roiesin57 · 10/11/2023 17:04

Good luck,

Callipygion · 10/11/2023 17:36

When will you hear if you’ve got it? Good luck to you! 🍀
