...to think Olivia Rodrigo is going to give me a heart attack!!

Posting here for traffic.

DD14 a MASSIVE Olivia Rodrigo fan. Since before everyone had heard of her. Has talked of nothing else for months - the eagerly anticipated new album, pre-ordering the vinyl + merch, learnt how to play and every word to every song in the new album, the tour...she had us all pre-register for tickets the MOMENT the email came out.

But thanks to what is clearly a very good PR firm the whole things gone mad. Demand for tickets is worse than Madonna or Taylor Swift. We got waitlisted for tickets across all ticketmaster accounts, and no doubt those with a pre-code were all ticket touts.

She sat and cried all evening. Not stroppy crying - gazing into the middle distance while tears just rolled down her face. Never seen her so miserable 😢.

Then last night...taken off the waitlist!! Limited availability of tickets, but you could get VIP pit tickets. Cost a FORTUNE but we were like it. Would be amazing to do the whole VIP experience.

DD elated - crying with joy, dancing around the kitchen promising no birthday or Christmas presents were expected this year 😂

THEN we realised you have to be 16 for a standing ticket at the O2. F**K.

Obviously this will have been included in the small print somewhere but every venue we've taken her to - Wembley, Hammersmith Apollo etc only requirement has been about under 14s being with a parent. And it's difficult to read the terms and conditions when you've got a 5min timer counting down your basket checkout!!

Don't know what to do. Do we try and get her in? She looks very old for her age, and will have just turned 15 so not far off - but website suggested they check ID. Imagine getting turned away at the door 😱

VIP tickets can't be cancelled. I daresay we can resell them later and would be happy to just buy more tickets assuming still availability. But strict 4 ticket per household rule with threats everywhere they will be checking and anyone violating will have all tickets cancelled.

Feel sick...HELP!

Hi, Did you resolve this...I'm a little late to the party but literally had the exact same experience and we care going tomorrow. I have just read on the tickets NO UNDER 16 for standing and she's just 15! Paid a fortune for VIPand it's tomorrow! Has anyone gone in and had no issues with being asked for ID for the under 16?

Did you get in please 🙏

@Jessyb890 my daughter went Wednesday and they were very strict - she had to show photo id proving she was 16.

May I ask if this was for vip or general admission please 🙂

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 18/05/2024 09:08

@Jessyb890 general standing. So she arrived about 4.30 and they went through the queue, so way before doors opened. Luckily she had her 16+ oyster with her as she wasn't expecting to be asked.

Does anyone know if a picture of a passport has been accepted for the VIP standing?

Biscuitsgalore18 · 18/05/2024 11:42

My daughter is 14 and got into o2 to see Olivia on Wednesday, VIP standing. There were definitely others that only looked 14. I did see an 11 year old turned away for no ID.

Just go. My underage daughter wasn't checked for Harry Styles. In reality, they are under time pressure to get everyone in, as the queues were like nothing I've ever seen before in my life. Chances are, they won't even check.

So the 4 x tickets max was preventing us doing this - any more than 4 per household all tickets would be cancelled 😱

We were hoping to get off the waitlist on one of the other emails addresses and buy some back up tickets.

Even better than this, DDs godmother has managed to get 4x seated tickets for the same night. We can all go together which will be fun in any case as her DD is also Olivia-mad and they will have fun together. But if the worst happens and DD is refused entry we can swap tickets with them (he DC are >16).
You need to calm down. You are making it seem like this is the toughest endeavour known to humankind.
You've already been offered something. Your godmother has already been offered.
Taylor Swift has been WAY tougher than this. People have travelled to other countries to attend TS concerts.
By being so hyped up you are literally making your dd more stressed.
