I seem to be having trouble selling my frinds baby girl clothes. It's not that people are looking and that they don't like what they see but no one is even asking to see pictures? I have put an add in my local co op, local spar, news agent And on oxford gum tree. saying will deliver locally and consider other locations and more than happy to e mail pictures. Listing all of what is in each bundle and doing 40+ items for £30 and it's not had any interest at all.
I have put some stuff on e bay and not had masses of interest there so eventually I upped the starting price, so they didn't sell for 99p and they haven't sold. I think maybe people have an issue with second hand clothes, or get bought alot so don't feel the need to buy a big bundle, even if it is cheap. Or don't know what they are having as i'm selling newborn to 6 months. I think for brands including some as new Next clothes, it's a really good price?

why dont you put them in the forsale section here?

Flier · 04/03/2008 16:18

I think people tend to want to buy designer 2nd hand clothes. I think NEXT usually sell well though, have you tried putting NEXT in the description?

kerryk · 04/03/2008 16:19

i think that for people who rely on 2nd hand clothes even £30 can be a huge ammount of money to find.

i just give my old things away, i love buying new from the shops for my girls and am lucky that i can do this. i dont see the point in selling them on when someone who really needs them can have them for nothing.

i bought second hand clothes from the charity shops. it is a hell of a faff buying bits and pieces privately. you would probably have mroe sucess selling a bundle of clothes.

Flier · 04/03/2008 16:27

you should try selling on here, esp if you already have gone to the bother of taking photos for selling on ebay.

I've still got loads of clothes that I don't want to just give away as they are in too good a condition
If I were you I'd put an ad on here with the title "Loads of girls clothes NEXT (any other brands) etc, all £1 or £2 each, discounts for bundles"

AdeleFielder · 04/03/2008 16:46

I'm selling them for my friend as she doesn't have much money at the mo, so if i can sell them it'll help her get more in future sizes, and to get some new stuff which is always nice to have. I will try selling on here when my money clears and I have the £5 to join up. I'm not mormally this skint!
I generally buy most stuff new and am keeping it for the next one(s). But if say a friend of a friend is selling clothes of a good condition at a good price then i'm more than happy to have them. They don't get much wear at that age. Then pass them on for free.
I know what your saying that £30 is alot of money still but if you're buying what can be a whole new wardrobe, then it's not too bad is it? I guess it depends if you have it so spend on a whole new wardrobe in 1 go. Thanx everyone,

I sell baby clothes through the nct nearly new sales. They hold two a year in my area. Might be worth contacting your local branch to find out. You don't have to be a member.

2shoes · 04/03/2008 16:54

i think your problem is omo that they are in a bundle. if you had them in smaller "lots" it might seem more afordable to some one on a budget.

AdeleFielder · 04/03/2008 18:31

great, thanx
