Hi all

My hubby and I have recently decide to TTC however he is on medication at the moment which seems to have affected his ability to … finish. We still have sex at least twice a week and without really thinking about dates but when I’ve looked back we’ve had sex on days 1,2 & 3 prior to ovulation as well as on likely ovulation day. But he didn’t finish any of these times :-(

I don’t want to turn it into a big deal as we’ve only just decided to “try” if that’s what you can call it but I guess my question is, is there any point of trying if he can never finish, or should we see how it goes for a while before seeking help? I’ve heard you can pregnant without ejaculation but don’t know anyone who has actually done this!

IABU = there is no chance of conceiving
IANBU = there is a chance of conceiving

p.s we are both early thirties with a two year old who was conceived first time so know everything else should be working ok!

It's not impossible but the chances would be very low.

You could always try AI if you really want to a baby now. My hairdresser who had infertility got pregnant that way, she said the infertility was putting too much pressure on her partner to perform, i think it worked on the first go for her aswell.

I myself had years of infertility and this had happened in the past with DH, too much pressure during my fertile window when we were trying to hit all the days. I actually bought the kit to use and it had great reviews. I actually got pregnant before we used it but I did research and it's not that rare for couples to resort to it if their partner has ejaculation problems.

Was this a problem before TTC? My partner had a similar issue (ED) that only started after our first month of trying, and left as soon as we conceived. He just felt a huge pressure when he knew I was ovulating. Is it maybe something like this?

It could be linked actually I’d never thought of that as it did only recently start but then it could be medication too. Maybe I’ll give it a while and see if it improves I guess the tell will be if he can during non fertile times won’t it.

Is he on the medication long term?

He is but actually it seems to be improving over time so there is hope!
