to think that Dispatches is about us?

And if it isn't about us, then it probably should be?

The number of names bandied around today and in previous witch hunts just show how dangerous social media trials can be. Imagine seeing the names of your friends and family touted as possible suspects?

I'm hoping that it's a big ruse to get everyone to tune in to actual real time tele to be given a kick and a shake and be responsible for what we post on line.

If they have gathered 3 years of actual evidence, how could it be about anonymous users of MN and/or what they say? That's not evidence of much, is it?

Sure, there might be some overlap between things that people have speculated about or shared on social media, which would make sense, but it's not going to be about the people speculating, is it?

I don't think a show that wants viewers to trust them going forward would try to trick everyone by disrupting the TV schedules saying "we've got something shocking to share" and then it turns out to be them saying "made you look, see, you shouldn't be looking in the first place, should you?".

It's Dispatches, not Black Mirror.

What the hell happened to innocent until proven guilty ? We really need to stop trial by media. This bloke maybe a wrong 'un or maybe he is weird but totally innocent of any crime, the courts will decide. It really isn't up to SM users to act as judge and jury.

It might be about me, I use a toilet brush AND I like Baylis & Harding gift sets.

Barnowlsandbluebells · 16/09/2023 15:15

It's a desperate attempt by Channel 4 to increase its ad revenue - don't fall for the bullshit.

It's about Brand. And I am disappointed yet again about the PR build up tbh

Are you seriously suggesting that Channel 4 would make up evidence, and incur massively expensive legal bills, to try and boost ad revenue?

Breaching a super injunction does not come cheap. Getting legal advice on exactly what you can and can't do; and if you've got enough evidence, to breach a super injunction does not come cheap.

If they've got a hole in their revenue, they've made it a lot worse to potentially make it better...

You what now?

Beeinalily · 16/09/2023 22:33

@70isaLimitNotaTarget gone...

Beeinalily · 16/09/2023 22:36

Seriously - Russell Brand has been out of the limelight for years, says a few things that the powers that be (or are) disapprove of and now they're gunning for him. I suppose he's lucky that he hasn't been found mysteriously having committed suicide by shooting himself in the back.
