To put house on the market immediately

This morning as I was leaving the house, I walked through a spider's web that'd been made across my front door frame, and found the spider (a bloody massive one, and I'm not one to exaggerate spider size) on my leg. Screamed, nearly wet myself, flicked it off with my keys, thought no more of it. Problem solved, cleaned the web off the door.

Just now I went outside to the bin and IT HAPPENED AGAIN. It'd remade its web and I walked through it, leaving it proud sat on my BARE ARM.

I screamed (again - I'm not a screamer, but honestly it was horrible) and flicked it off with my hand this time as I had no keys.

I now have goosebumps that won't go away and I keep 'feeling' it walking on me, even though there's nothing there.

I either have to always use the back door and leave the house that way from now on, or move. Because I feel like it's made its home and will keep rebuilding every time I destroy it.

AIBU to just sell the house, or even burn it down?

(Disclaimer: This is of course lighthearted, I'm not a wimp - though I prefer them not to be on me - and of course I'm not really going to move).

Don't be over-dramatic. The sensible solution is a flame thrower- you will only damage the front porch area.

I have a very persistent spider that keeps making a web across where I keep the bins and it is right at face height. You would think after the third time of webbing my entire face I would learn but I keep forgetting. I try to move him to create sideways but clearly it’s not as effective at catching his dinner!

Update: DP has moved it to a nice bush a few houses further down the road.

He put it in a ready made web, with another spider already in it. I'm now concerned that he will either have a) started spider warfare or b) given them an easy chance to procreate and return here with their babies.

Are 'homing spiders' a thing, or is that strictly pigeons?

Either way, I consider the matter 'dealt with', for now..

I hate the bloody things though I always try to catch them under a glass if I can. So many cobwebs everywhere outside 🤢. I went out of my back door and the cobweb I walk through literally pulled my hair back. Thankfully no spider fell on me. Now when I go out I wave my arms around just in case. Not sure what the neighbours think but I don't really care as long as I'm not set upon by a spider. Shudder

I put the last large bugger at the end of the garden. I should have taken it further away. There was/is a humongous one in my garage...tarantula size almost. Too quick and sneaky to catch 😩

At the back of my house I've got a hanging decoration made of pottery, which consists of a number of small bell shapes.

A few weeks ago a spider set up home in one of the bells from which he has made a his web and attached it to one of the garden chairs, obviously haven't sat in that chair since.

During the day he keeps himself tucked into the bell, which is just the right size for him to curl up in, and then comes out at night and sits in the middle of his web.

I check on him in his little home from time to time. I've become quite fond of him in a weird way.

You belong to the spider now - let it take you…

Have the hoover in the hall ready!

I’ve removed the same spider from the house at least four times this week, safely and humanly with a glass and a piece of card. Every time the little bastard finds his way back in to mock me. Just yesterday I was watching TV, I looked down and there he was, standing in the middle of the rug, looking at me, raising his microscopic middle finger.

See, that sounds cute.. but I just can't transfer that cuteness to the situation I experienced 😂

It is cute. His legs are tucked under him and he looks all warm and cosy😍

Having said that, I very much doubt I'd feel so warm and fuzzy about him if I kept walking into his web and his hairy body kept landing on me😱

My spider story
I had a basket of bedding ( white ) to iron ( ran a BnB )
there was a spider in it , so obviously I couldn’t iron it , told DH. He shook the basket and declared it spider free ( rolls eyes )
the basket obviously stayed unironed ,
in the same room a couple of days later I had a rack of T-shirts drying

They didn’t need ironing , got folded and I took them upstairs …
Until … a fucking enormous spider started running up my arm !

I nearly died l But did the obvious thing which was jump up and down and scream ,
I picked the bugger off my arm , before it got to my neck IN MY BARE HAND and chucked it on the floor , DH came running in , about bloody time , couldn’t see the hideous black monster until I pointed the git out to him , when he obviously squashed it and flushed it down the loo

luckily we’ve retired and moved

So yep , on the market now
