To ask how long your recent passport renewal took to come back?

Has anyone recently applied for a passport renewal?

It says online it can take 10 weeks - anyone know if that's what their working to?

Around March/April time me and a friend got our children's back in about 3/4 weeks. That was when the passport office strikes were on. Friend was trying to get an emergency appointment end of April and was no chance. Sent it usual way and had it back in about 3 weeks.

My theory is that the passport office hate the emergency options (which involve an in-person visit to the passport office) and so have made them rarer than rocking horse poop and have instead pulled their finger out with sorting the standard route. Just a theory though!

Ours took about 3 weeks at the july/beginning of August.

9 days from when I sent the old ones to the new ones arriving.

10 days during August - we were impressed!

Did mine reasonably recently and it said the same at the time (could be 10 weeks). It came back in no more than two weeks from memory and they notified me it was ready for printing very quickly after sending application. You do have to send your old passport first though before they will print and send it so you will need to get that in pronto if renewal!

4 days! Did online form and to old passport to post office on Tuesday 29th and got new passport on Saturday 2nd. Amazing service!

OP you should have opted for the fast track service if you’re going away in 4 weeks 😱

However mine came back in a week, and yes they wait to receive your old one and any accompanying documents before they sort out your new one.

Mine was processed in less than 5 days, which included a weekend, via the Liverpool office, in early July.

I filled in the online form Thursday afternoon, went to the Post Office just before they closed on Thursday evening to send off my old passport, they acknowledged receipt of the old passport on Friday lunchtime (sent it as a signed for letter) and then the new passport dropped through the door on Monday afternoon and my old passport was returned about a week later.

6 days, back in April, my gob has never been quite so smacked!

The 6 days were over a weekend too, did the on-line stuff on Thursday evening, posted off my old one on Friday and got the new one on the Wednesday.

Mine took 6 days. Applied on line on Sunday, new passport arrived following Saturday.

Approx 10 days - renewal at 10 years, 5 months = June 2023.

For job purposes, just missed out on a King Charles type one by days.
