Are nursery obliged to share fire assessment documents?

Am not sure if I'm being a bit PFB here, but have found a lovely nursery for DD to start next summer.

However, the building it's in is a three story Victorian house - and her room would be at the top.

My mum flagged how the school she worked at as a teacher hasn't been allowed to run classes in a similar building due to fire safety regs.

After that conversation I got a bit worried and decided to email nursery to ask if I could see the fire safety risk assessment.

I have got a rather snarky reply from their receptionist saying that they do not share that document with parents as it is a large file and that they wouldn't be allowed to operate if there was anything to be concerned about.

Not sure where to go from here!

To be honest, I’d find an alternative nursery if the seed is already planted it’s not a safe place, regardless of whether they show you the plans or not!

Most likely it's because rather than trust
that have it In hand, you don't believe them and they feel like this isn't a good start to the relationship.

You should choose a nanny who can work from.your own home and ensure you provide her with a fire risk assessment.
