As some of you may recall I am extremely anxious partly as my DD is going on a gap year in November. I feel at the moment that I'm having a nervous breakdown. I cannot sleep, no energy, no interest in anything. Does this sound like a breakdown and what can I do please?

see your gp?

Call your GP in the morning and say it's urgent. They can refer you to talking therapy and also offer you medication that might help. If you can afford it, pay for private talking therapy as the waiting list for NHS therapy is usually long. Do you have anyone else that lives with you or a close friend or family member who can be with you in the meantime?

I had a breakdown. I'd say if you feel like you're having a breakdown then you are having one

I live with my partner who knows how I feel. I'm already on venlafaxine so I don't know what else they can give me

Yes I agree with this
When you're having a breakdown it doesn't feel like anything except a breakdown

There are other things they could give you but the best thing would be to go and talk to them.
