My cousin and his wife are currently all over social media asking for sponsorship for a charity walk they're doing. Really going on about it. But i's less than two paltry miles they're walking! Not like they're tackling the three peaks in 24 hours or something. They'd walk more wandering round big Tesco fgs. I'd rather they just asked people to bung the charity some money for no reason other than they support it rather than pretend this walk is anything other than a little wander round a park.

Go on, tell me I'm a miserable bastard.

I no longer sponsor people doing something of no benefit to anyone, or just of benefit to themselves.
Wash cars, pack bags, donate your hair- fine, but the money goes to charity, not to fund your trip to South America.
Walk, swim, etc -no.

This.

A friend is making such a bloody big deal about her parachute jump thing all over social media with everyone saying what an amazing thing it is for her to do....but she has always wanted to do a parachute jump and is moaning that if she doesn't raise a certain amount of sponsorship then she has to pay for the jump herself....so the first couple of hundred quid of sponsorship goes to the skydiving company and not the charity🙄

Someone I know was all over social media raising money for a charity by going on a 50 mile walk. Turns out it was 50 miles over the space of two weeks or something ridiculous, which she pretty much does anyway as she has a dog. Ffs

She only got £20 in all so clearly others felt the same
