Hi,

Totally appreciate this isn't an iabu but whenever I post anywhere else I get very few responses.

Anyway, looking for help. 9 year old relative, need a birthday present. He is into Pokémon but has everything related. Not in need of clothes. Don't see him read much, little attention span unless it's a screen and not really sporty. Parents say get a 'surprise' but where to start?! Anyone able to recommend gifts that their 9 year old boy loved?

I'm getting my nephew who turns 9 next week a smyths voucher. He can put it towards a game for his ps5 or buy an actual toy. I think if your budget is £50 either give him the money or a voucher so he can choose.

I'd just get him tickets for something fun, karting or trampolining or something if he already has lots of stuff.

A Polaroid type camera?

A voucher for the cinema?

A good box of American candies?

what’s your budget?

Can you be my gift advisor for the rest of my life, please? 🤣 or, at the very least, can I make my own thread for DH and tag you?

Just give them cash, does he really need more stuff?

Best idea.

Lolapusht · 06/09/2023 09:35

Just give him the money! Mine love going to Smyth’s after birthdays. He can shop to a budget and get something he wants 🤷🏻‍♀️

My little boy is 5 so a bit younger but if he likes Pokémon I wonder if he would enjoy going Geocaching? Kind of like Pokémon go I guess lol maybe could get some walking shoes/explorers kit etc to help him go hunting for them

A £20 pre-paid card so that he can buy things online or in video games. £30 into his savings.

As the mother of a 9yo who also enjoys screens, Robux gift card or a gift card for whatever Device he uses. £40. Spend the other tenner on sweets.

More Pokémon cards. Honestly, when they are in that phase they can never have enough.

Skateboard, helmet and pads.

Robux

Lego technik.

Cards against Humanity Kids is brilliant

Jelly Beans

Cash

Also, I used to like a website called Lost Universe that sold loads of cool stuff good for gifts. I think it has been taken over by Menkind now.
