Doctor tomorrow

I have to go tomorrow and i'm terrified. She's a nice doc but i'm relatively immobile and they've moved premises since i saw them last. I could hardly walk across the tiny estate.road to them the last time i went. And had fallen over in the coffin width shower beforehand. I'm now scared of the shiwer, the bus and the (innocent) doctor. Please tell me i can do it and that i'm just letting my mind run away with me. It'll be over this time tomorrow like. (Unless i break my leg getting on and.off the bus).

You'll be fine 🙂 deep breaths and take your time and you'll be great. In 24 hours you will wonder what all the worry was about!

Eleplant · 04/09/2023 15:46

Come back tomorrow and tell us how it went.

Throckmorton · 04/09/2023 15:46

You can do it! The fear beforehand is always worse than the actual event!

CaroleSinger · 04/09/2023 15:48

Just do everything very slowly. Give yourself plenty of time and don't feel you need to rush x

Malapataraso · 04/09/2023 15:50

Is there anyone who can go with you? It’s ok to ask for help.

TeenLifeMum · 04/09/2023 15:52

They have to have access for disabled people, can you speak to the receptionist and ask for advice?

Do you have community transport in your area? Probably not suitable for this occasion but may be in the future as in my area you have to set an account up/book in advance. They do door to door service which helps me (I'm Probably the youngest by about 30 years) but it gets me to my appointment on time and safely.
Could you request home visit? I have done this occasionally and my gp has come out because they know I'm not one for taking advantage.
Last resort for me is a taxi but they don't usually help you but its easier than a bus. I use pip money for my extra transport needs.
Also have you asked your gp for an occupational therapy/physio assessment I didn't think they'd help much but some things have helped.
I can understand the embarrassment/worry I still panic going on the community transport but do feel a little more reassured they will help me/be there if something happens.

There is no transport. I'll hang out of my H
That hasn't always worked. And the doc moved, they used to be across the road, but now a bus journey. I'm feeling particularly crap shit now, the last time i got in the (coffin sized) shower, i still managed to fall over. I'm terrified of it all tbh. I'm a whinge bag, i'm just scared tbh.
