Fed up with hairdressers

I mean generally. The biggest thing that pisses me off is I find their pricing really opaque. One near me was advertising 40% off all colour on August, except obviously once you get down to it you realise loads of T&Cs apply.

Pricing systems often totally lack transparency too: you'll be given a rough quote but it's always different at the till because of some bullshit factor like "oh we added a glossing treatment" or "the blow dry was done by a senior stylist".

They often upsell without you realising: at the sink, "oh your ends need a good soak they're very dry. I'm just going to pop on this moisture seal very quickly, is that alright?". Whoops, turns out that was a £20 treatment. It would be great if they were taught to have a bit of honesty in their practices, aka "thus treatment would be great for your hair, it is an extra 20 quid though. Is that okay?".

They chop shit loads off your hair when you go for a trim.

It's 2023 and we're exploring space, but they haven't managed to figure out a sink system that doesn't make you feel like your neck is about to snap. Like thanks for the massaging chair but my head is in agony

So fed up with them!

Nonsense!

You had your hair done how you wanted/asked for, not to fit any patriarchal moulds. Whatever they may be

Some people are nuts!

Someone bought me a gift voucher for a fancy salon. I booked a haircut. Before washing my hair, I was shown a treatment menu as she said the voucher would cover a cut and a treatment. She sold me a relaxing lavender treatment. I'd get a head massage while the treatment was worked through my hair, then I could relax with a lavender scented eye pillow and feel all my tension soothe away. Sounded blissful!

In reality, she put the treatment on and then prodded at my head while she was talking over her shoulder to someone else about the towels in the washing machine that needed to be dried. Then a workman came in to talk to her.

She plonked the eye pillow over my eyes and left me bent backwards in the sink while she and the workman had a loud conversation about the roadworks and how they were going to manage pedestrians so they could safely get in and out of the salon.

Didn't feel relaxed at all and just felt uncomfortable with a stiff neck from laying in the sink.

I get a dry cut with some layers put in. Costs me £25.
If I added the hair wash and blow dry it would be almost £40.
I hate going and agree that they always cut off way more than asked.

I've found a great one, curly hair specialist. Never changing! Price online is the price I pay and just one client in the salon at once
