To ask how you fill the weekend?

I know mumsnet is full of ideas of how to fill the school holidays but I'm struggling to get that balance by Sunday night of feeling rested but also that nice kind of exhausted from family activities.

I have a 3 Y/O and we basically do the same things most weekend - library, park, 1 paid activity like aquarium, trampolining, swimming etc. I try and have some down time, so he can decide what to do at home - playing with toys, watching TV.

Is anyone a bit more interesting/creative than I am?

Do you get a lie in? DS is a bit older now (6) and we both get to stay in bed til about 10.30am as I take him to gymnastics on Saturday and DH takes him to swimming lessons Sunday. Then we have lunch and do something in an afternoon (park, walk, drive out etc...)

@GetToTheChopperrr Ahh I fantasise about lie ins. DS is super noisy though so even when DH is up with him, I rarely get back off to sleep. You end up thinking you may as well just get up! I may start buying a paper on Saturday again and using the Sunday lie in time, reading this with coffee in bed ☺️

That's exactly what I do, but home improvement mags instead. And also just use the time to be 'off the clock' in terms of childcare.
