And that I'm her best friend. She also frequently says she's scared and sad.

She says she's scared when she hears sad songs. I think she confuses sad and scared sometimes. She says she's sad when she can't get her own way or needs to share.

She also sometimes says she has a tummy ache. Then she says she ' feels better '.

I think it's really sweet she tells me she loves me. But she says it so often I'm starting to worry if something isn't right with her and she feels unsure or something ? There haven't been any major changes. I tell her I love her all the time, so perhaps she's just copying me? That makes the most sense.

She's 3 and a half.

Did / does anyone else's child do this kind of stuff ?

My DS1 is 3 years 8 months and he is definitely in the same phase. I've had "I love you really much" today, and at breakfast he said he would play with his friends at nursery, "but mummy, you and Daddy and [baby brother] are my BEST friends". It's adorable!

He also gets sad, scared and shy mixed up. It's a good thing if they're talking about their feelings, I think. Might be good to also get her to talk about when she's happy, if you're concerned.

Oh yes you reminded me, she also tells me when she's happy! It doesn't happen as often. She's happy when we dance together or when all the family are around and it's kind of a ' party ' and we put loud music on. She loves that so much and then she'll run around and say ' mummy I'm so happy '. She loves parties and when everyone gets together.

Another funny thing she says when someone she likes leaves ' i lost my Daddy ' ' I lost my friends ' ' I lost my whoever left ' .. so cute.

Wow - until very recently mine would say "I've lost my mummy" for "I miss my mummy". He went through a phase of not wanting to go to nursery because "I might lose my mummy and daddy". I thought that was a quirk of my son's but maybe it's just 3 and a half year olds!

Normal...I used to know my boy was planning something "naughty" when he randomly said "love you mummy" 🤣 he'd say it a lot even in a tantrum or when he was being rude.

absolutley normal
One of mine - when little - would say it so often, that It almost got on my nerves

But now I miss those days

She's probably just copying you I'd think.

The tummy ache thing - this might be obvious but recently my toddler kept telling me her tummy wasn't feeling well. It took me an embarrassingly long time (couple of weeks) to work out she always said this right before she did a poo, after which she'd be fine. So I think she was just telling me she needed a poo.

My DD11 was like this when she was little, and still tells me she loves me all the time - I'm cherishing it

When she tells me I'm the best mum ever I tell her to please remember that in a few years time...

I even recorded her saying it so I can remind her when she's a teenager 😂
