To ask for your recommendations for alternative to Nuby Rapid Cool

Hi everyone

We are going on holiday in a couple of weeks and I normally use the prep machine at home or boiling water a couple hours before feed is due if we are out/at somebody's house but I would like to get something like the Nuby Rapid Cool so if we are out all day on holiday I can make DD's bottle up fresh.

I don't really want to pay £80 for the Nuby set and wondered if anyone can recommend a decent flask that keeps water at at least 70c to kill the formula bacteria?

You could buy the Nuby cooling flask for £30 and then just a normal vacuum flask to keep the water hot.

However, it looks like the kit (two cooling flasks and a hot water flask) is on offer at Argos for £60 at the moment though. I don't know how long it takes the cooling flask to reset so you might need two if you're out and about all day.

Yes, this. We got the nuby cooling flask on sale for under 30£ and used it a lot in the summer. I don't think you need the set, any vacuum flask will work.
Also I looked at alternatives at the time and couldn't find any)

Just to add also that I do like but it's quite heavy and bulky if you plan to use it out and about on holiday. If you can, I would buy ready made milk bottles instead, it's more expensive but much more practical for a few days.

We use a chilly bottle to keep the water hot. Pre-heat it, then fill with freshly boiled water. Ours stays at over 70 C for over 4 hours - try at home with any flask and use a thermometer every 30 mins so you know how long it will last for. Then ask for a bowl of iced water if in a pub/cafe, if you can’t use the rapid cool because it hasn’t reset.

Thank you @PolkadotsAndMoonbeams I will look at Argos!

@Bearbookagainandagain DD has CMPA so prescription formula otherwise that's what I'd be doing! Such a faff!
