To give 10 month old cows milk?

Hi all,

I'm wondering would it be okay to give my 10 month old 3oz of cows milk to tie her over?

DH has accidentally knocked the formula container over and it's smashed along with the formula and it was our last one and obviously it's happened on a Sunday when shops don't open until 10am.

It was a full tub and we were going to get some today anyway but I'm kicking myself we don't have more, lesson learnt.

I'm hoping her breakfast will tie her over but I just know she'll want a bottle and I can only offer whole milk as an alternative but I don't know if it's dangerous hence why I'm asking here.

Thank you

Pretty sure the guidance for not giving cows milk is that it’s very filling without the additional nutrients of baby milk.

my 10 month old has milk in cereal, rice pudding etc.

It's more that it has lower iron and other nutrients so isn't as nutritious as formula/breastmilk. As a one off it would be fine to use.

@Hiphopopotamonster because this is what I got when I googled it.

This is because this is referring to what happens if you only give cows milk to babies full time instead of breast or formula.

Which is why it’s ok to give them porridge at 4/6 months with cows’ milk.

What do you think formula is made from? I always thought it was from dried skimmed cow's milk with vegetable oil, extra "sugar", with a few minerals and vitamins added.
A ten month old child would usually be well on the way to a mixed diet so whole cows milk is a other new food to try

24 hour asda?

even they are closed due to sunday opening laws...

general advice is that a small amount of cows milk to make up food is ok at this age.

Feed her porridge with the cow's milk which is really filling for babies.

In scotland they are open longer hours and some are open 24 hours even on a Sunday
