to keep putting off cancer genetic testing

I qualify for cancer genetic testing. This information could be helpful because there are extra screenings available for many cancers. But some of these mutations raise one’s risk of multiple cancers, including pancreatic. There’s not much that can be done to mitigate that risk, so I’m not sure I want to know. I’d like to hear the thought process of others who had to make this decision or know someone who has. What did you decide and why? If you have a mutation, do you grapple with anxiety?

I had full genetic testing after getting a cancer young that I had no risk factors for. I was negative for everything so a relief but if I was positive I would want to know. So many times people have minor symptoms of cancer well before they are diagnosed, and if you have these you can get tested/scanned and potentially catch something early. I would always want to know.

can ask for advice, my ddinlaw has just found out she has triple negative breast cancer, her mother has passed she didn't have cancer but her mother did late in life, and her mothers sister died in her 50s with it and her daughter had breast cancer but the doctors are still saying its not related, it has to be a mother or sister not grandmother aunt or cousin. It must be in family don't you think.
