Do they always come out? And do they always arrest people? What if the person said they only reported it so a record was made.

Why not actually tell people what you need help with rather than just posting vague threads?

IncompleteSenten · 20/08/2023 15:16

They usually come out.
They don't always arrest someone.

ApolloandDaphne · 20/08/2023 15:16

I guess it depends how serious they deem the reported assault to be.

Theunamedcat · 20/08/2023 15:17

You can't report and just ask for a record

ApolloandDaphne · 20/08/2023 15:22

Why have you started so many threads about assaults? You could ask all your questions on one thread.

Banditqueen12 · 20/08/2023 15:27

You either are saying that a crime has been committed and you want the police to deal with that crime. Or you don't. There is not really such a thing as a "record" - you could be lying for your own purposes, so a "record" has no standing. Unless you count the entire amount of police time wasted by you.

If you are being assaulted, then do something about it.

BacktoBeginnersFran · 20/08/2023 15:29

It's not your decision once the report is made

1406E · 20/08/2023 15:30

They don't always come out to a report of assault but more than likely will if domestic related.
Don't always arrest, are victim led, depending on the circumstances. Can and will take the decision from you, again if there is a domestic element as have to take positive action due to safeguarding.
You can just report so a record is kept but most police officers are not happy doing this as a lot of writing round as to why positive action was not taken if a crime has been committed. It will be weighed up against several investigational and evidential factors

NoTouch · 20/08/2023 15:34

What value do you think a "logged" uncollaborated assault with no witnesses or evidence would have? It means nothing.
