To wonder where the fudge my pantyliner is!?

Throwaway as it's embarrassing.

DH and I are staying at my parents for the past month while our house is having some work done. Last night I went to sleep wearing a pantyliner (it was a bit loose but I rearranged so I thought it sat better). Woke up this morning, fed DC, gave DC to DH to change nappy and went to the loo to discover my pantyliner was no longer there.

I didn't mention anything to DH but had a peek in the bed to see if it fell off in the bed, couldn't see it. Looked around the floor of the bed, not there.
Retraced my steps to the loo, not anywhere there.
I did sit in the living room while DH changed DC's nappy so I had a look there too, but it isn't there.

Where on earth is it!?

Also, highly likely it's just me that wears liners in this house. Do post-menopausal women need liners!? It's going to be so mortifying when it's found. It's obvious it's mine and also just plain disgusting 😭😭😭

I'm in uk and call the thin small ones pantyliners

I have lost lots OP usually they plop down the toilet and get flushed before you realise it's gone ( bad for our sewers I know )

Bapbap45 · 19/08/2023 07:59

Ltb

Ourshoddyhouse · 19/08/2023 08:01

I'm in the UK and it's always been a pantyliner, and I hope you find it soon.

Livvylau · 19/08/2023 08:02

Not in my shoe
Not in my crack
Not in the laundry
DH using phone torch to check under the bed now

I have a sinking feeling it's going to remain a mystery. Really hoping I just flushed it down the loo

HelloDaisy · 19/08/2023 08:03

Not how you want to spend your morning!

Has it stuck to the side of the loo?

Missing the point completely here, but in a sea of husband bashing threads on mumsnet recently your singing, supportive husband making you feel better has made me smile!

Thank you, he is lovely.

And sadly yes you do need them once menopausal 😢

Are you in the USA? I've never heard anyone in the UK call it's a pantyliner.

Is it stuck to the inside of your pyjama leg?

Are you for real? They are actually called pantyliners. In the UK. They are not the same as sanitary towels.

pimplebum · 19/08/2023 08:07

Personally I'd tell the whole house hold over breakfast

"Hey guys it's funny , I have lost my pant liner - it's only a incontenence one no blood so if you see it lying around apologies ! "

Seriously you are acting like you have shat the bed ( which I have done and told MIL) or drunk spewed all over their precious library shelves ( I never did this ever )

It's just a wee wee pad you can't find anywhere
If it turns up stuck to the babies head just laugh it off , worse things happen at sea ...

GodspeedJune · 19/08/2023 08:07

How sleep deprived are you? I forgot all sorts in the early months and I’m still looking for a gift card that I put away safely when DD was a newborn.

TheHateIsNotGood · 19/08/2023 08:09

Maybe one of your DPs got up for a wee whilst you were asleep, found it on the floor and disposed of it for you.

It's a pad?

Do people call knickers pantys?

Nope 🤷‍♀️

The kind of woman that gets this worked up over it obviously has parents that are reaallly reaallly uptight. If I was from an all-joking banterous breakfast table family I wouldn't even have thought of making a stress thread on it 😭😭😭 but I guess that's what's also so comical

I did consider that I might have already chucked it in the bin myself but highly unlikely as something in my head told me it's missing

Ok folks, we are giving up on it. I really appreciate everyone's help. I really want a nap. If it turns up I'm sure I'll update here

Is it stuck to the baby?!

Sorry @IkeaHelp - you must be sick of all the quotes of your post and I dived in not realising over half the posters on the thread had already commented!

Cazzovuoi · 19/08/2023 08:16

@Livvylau strip off and check its not stuck to you somewhere.

My money is on it having fallen into the toilet and flushed away.

A pad is a sanitary towel. No we don't call knickers panties but we do call pantyliners pantyliners!

Livvylau · 19/08/2023 08:24

Not on baby or me or DH.
Praying it fell in the loo

You need to start using the 'Carefree' brand.
All of this stress can't be good for you.

Not in my shoe

New Dr Seuss story right there....

Look inside the duvet cover.
My guess is it fell down the loo.
