I’ve recently had my first baby and I was messaging a mate of mine yesterday. She knows I’ve been feeling a bit self conscious of my post baby body. Out of the blue she has started telling me she is selling lighter life shake type of products and listed all the things it could do for me and the weight loss benefits. she said ‘I think you would really benefit from it’ Aibu to be offended.

I'd be offended post baby body or not.. for anyone trying to push these ridiculous shake things onto me.. it has bad as SW.. scientifically proven not to work.
Your body will be back to what you feel better about soon enough.. remember it carried your baby for 9 months.. what could be more of a miracle than that. Congratulations and enjoy every minute of your baby

I wouldn’t be offended but I’d be annoyed she was playing on my vulnerability as a new mum to aggressively sell her MLM crap.

That is actually not true as far as Lighter Life is concerned.

It is the Very Low Calorie Diet (soups, shakes and bars) that was used by Professor Roy Taylor to demonstrate that Type 2 Diabetes can be reversed and it can do so very quickly in fact.

It is not a pyramid scheme, the way some people are saying it is on here. The counsellors though do get a percentage of the sales they make for the products and also from the fees for the course

It isn't for everybody, as it is very difficult to follow it for the weeks which may be required - and is contra-indicated if you have certain health problems. Lighter Life is very expensive though and the 'counselling' aspect doesn't do it either for many people, but for those who can stick to it, it is a very effective way of losing weight quickly and without damaging your health ( the products have all the vitamins and minerals needed)

Of course if you go back to eating the way you did before you lose the weight, the weight will just pile back on again. That is where the counselling is supposed to help

I'm not recommending it per se - just trying to correct some misinformation on here. Following a Keto diet which doesn't have a lot of carbs, is a better way to do it IMO

@Lovelillies - I wouldn't be offended if I were you. You have been complaining about your post baby body and I'm sure that she was partly trying to be helpful as well as trying to get you as a customer!

These people are brainwashed and are in a cult to brainwash others, don’t take it personally

Curtains70 · 17/08/2023 21:19

YABU purely because she is in a cult now so nothing she says is to be taken seriously unless she's asking for help to escape.

readbooksdrinktea · 17/08/2023 21:20

She's an MLM hun. It's a script. I wouldn't take it personally, but I would tell her I'd want nothing to do with it.

Gymnopedie · 17/08/2023 21:22

And if you're breastfeeding don't even think about it.

Hoppinggreen · 17/08/2023 21:22

Don’t take it personally she’s been sucked into a cult

Conkersinautumn · 17/08/2023 21:24

I'd mainly be offended that she thought I'd be stupid enough to buy overpriced snake oil from a vacuous bitch that puts her greed above friendships. Ditch the bitch, noone who voluntarily uses people they know this way is worth the hair stuck in the hoover.

FoodFann · 17/08/2023 21:29

I’d be insulted that she thought my intelligence was so low I’d be willing to participate in an MLM!

Skyisbluegrassisgreen · 17/08/2023 17:44

If you’ve been telling her you’re worried about your weight and she sells this stuff she’s seems to be just trying to help

I agree.

Your mate is probably caught up in the newness if it and has yet to realise what a con it all is.

JudgeRudy · 17/08/2023 21:53

If it's a friend I wouldn't be offended by her alluding to your excess weight. I would be annoyed though that shes trying to sell me overpriced stuff that might not be my best option. I'd just say Nice try, no. Don't ask again.
