I have not received a single letter in 3 weeks - wtf?

As the title says, we have not received a single letter in the post for three weeks - not even junk mail.

We’ve been so busy with work and our son that it’s only today we’ve realised that actually there could be an issue.

I have been waiting on HMRC letters which haven’t come but they can be slow so I thought that would be the reason. I’m waiting on a hospital appointment date that hasn’t come. I got a call yesterday from my son’s complex needs specialist saying she’d sent us two letters in the post and had we received them, meaning we missed an appointment. And today a client said that products she had sent to me had been returned to her.

Is it best to call Royal Mail? I have never heard of this happening before & can’t think why on earth we would suddenly stop receiving post - so wanted to ask whether this has ever happened to anyone else?!

I don’t mind do much if it at least turns up eventually, but often it doesn’t.

I have HMRC fines for late payments I didn’t even know about. Also an international delivery parcel that was returned for unpaid customs charges - apparently Parcel Force sent a letter via Royal Mail asking for the payment!

Looks like loads of vacancies

And many might suit people who need more work - Sunday morning only ; or options where you would get home for school pick up ; a bit over £12 an hour

Royal mail are rubbish now. I posted a card first class on 6th August - recipient still hasn't received it. Was posting a parcel on Monday to arrive by next Monday and was told only was to make sure it got there in time was to send next day delivery at ridiculous cost. Its appalling.

I agree. I used to dread when things were being sent by Evri (Hermes) but times change, and for the last few years I get that sinking feeling when anything is being sent by Royal Mail.

When this happens I fill an envelope with glitter and post it to myself. If it arrives I know the postal system is working, if it doesn't someone else gets a glitterbomb.

We often get post only every few weeks. Dd gets a “weekly” magazine and it’s normal for nothing to come for weeks and then 3 to show up at once. I’m still waiting for a hospital letter that the consultant’s secretary said was posted on 6th July!

We were away from Monday last week until Monday this week. It's the 1st time we've got back from holiday to no post on the doormat. There's usually a pile to sift through.

Royal Mail are super short staffed at the moment. The posties that are there are doing everything they can but they are told to prioritise parcels (where the money is for the business) and tracked.

It's a combination of changes within the company that are making it an undesirable job now for the pay, especially with the cost of living.

Same here. When our postman goes on holiday they don't have anyone to cover so if he's sick or away it just wants for him to come back. When waiting for a medical appointment I call my GPS to see if they get sent it as well.

I sent a birthday card off first class a week before the persons birthday . A week later it still hasn't arrived , so 2 weeks or more for post to arrive or more than likely , lost !

I use DHL for parcels. The drop off place is my local Newsagent. I stopped using Royal Mail years ago after they lost a couple of valuable parcels.

Happened to us. Regular postie was on holiday and there was no cover. I went to the sorting office to enquire and was able to collect all my backlogged mail.
