to want my son to have a carbon monoxide detector with him on holiday

18 YO DS is travelling around Europe staying in assorted accommodations, most of them for just the one night before he moves on to the next destination. Am I silly to want him to have a small portable carbon monoxide detector with him?

Total besides the point (which I think is a bit over the top!) but might be interesting to know: sats monitoring doesnt show carbon monoxide poisoning, it'll be more likely to read 100% than anything low (haemoglobin really likes to bond with carbon monoxide so saturates itself with it quickly and easily which is what causes the problem).
