Bebeconfort Loola

Hi This is the first time I've posted so please bear with me. Has anyone else had a problem with their loola. I bought mine in May 07 and have had to return twice as it doesn't lock out properly when the seat unit is in place. I've just had it returned again and it still won't lock and is incredibly stiff to unfold. Durelle who manufacture it have put in a note with suggesting I may find it easier to lock it without the seat unit in place. Is it me or is that unreasonable. You can imagine trying to get on and off public transport holding the baby and taking the seat unit off each time. Please let me know if any one else has had problems. The shop I bought it from are refusing to give me a refund.

Thanks all Madines

The Shop you bought from should give you a refund shouldn't they? I'm not a statutory rights expert, but maybe you could ask to see the manager and explain that the buggy doesn't work and you are not satisfied with the service youo've received.

Our Loola doesn't always lock - you have to do it extra-firmly the first time and if it doesn't work, collapse a little, and start again with your foot pushed RIGHT down on it!

HTH!

if you google consumer advice there is loads of info on this sort of situation there

i had a similar prob at m and p last year where a pushchair i had bought from them broke after two weeks, returned it and they said all they could do was repair it when it cam back it was broken if a diferent place anyway had to contact consumer direct about them and if you call them a lovely lady will recite a letter or email for you quoting all the relevant stuff

the goods you buy should be fit for the job they were designed to do, if they are advetising their product by saying it folds with the seat on yanbu and should do what it says it does!! have you tried telling the store that you either want your cash back or a different pushchair altogether whether it is a different loola or a different brand altogether. i found that standing in m and p for two hours talking loudly to my friend about their shitty returns policy and how a £200 pushchair could brake twice in the space of a month given the fact that they had had it for two weeks was disgusting, eventually they agreed to give me my cash back

hi I tried for ten minutes to get it to lock out with plenty of force and it still wouldn't. I can't believe that I should have to fight with it to get it work. I just think this isn't good enough but thanks anyway madines

Surely then it isn't fit for purpose? (meaning the shop should give you a refund)

Can you ring Consumer Direct / Trading Standards and get proper advice?

helenhismadwife · 28/02/2008 16:03

definately ring trading standards or something I thought the loola came with a year warranty have your tried contacting bebe confort customer services? I found them really helpful tell them that you have had nothing but problems going straight to the top often hleps, because at the end of the day it is the good reputation of the company and that matters to them;

Is it that the seat is stiff, once i started using the loola after having the creatis and windoo on it i found it tricky and had to take the loola of because it would not fit in the boot of my beloved mini. If the chasis will go up ok without the loola on, then it will probably get better.

Willowwisp · 28/02/2008 22:33

I've had the same problem with my Loola, you really have to push hard on the footplate to lock it out when you have the seat attached? I can manage it, but for some reason my DH walks DD around in a half put up pushchair and doesn't notice (despite being reminded that he has to check it)

Apart from that I love it!

miarosemum · 28/02/2008 22:55

i have just had an awful experience with maclaren, i went to use my beloved quest one day to see that the brake was hanging off and was always so stiff to use anyway that i always used my hand to put the brake on! took it back to mothercare as it was still under its 1 year warranty, who said they would send it back to maclaren to be repaired. i then get a call 3 weeks later to be told that the fault was down to misuse and that i would have to pay £35 to have it repaired!! i was fuming and had a right go at them (not mothercare but maclaren) . mothercare were great and said if it was one of their pushchairs that they would exchange or refund for me but as it was maclaren they had to follow what they said. really peeved off, such AWFUL customer service, i rely on my pushchair so much as have no car and this is the way they treat a custoemr even with my warranty!!
