Would it wind you up MIL- toddler toilet / bathing related

Would it wind you up that every time your MIL sees your child, she's always needing to remind/ suggest your child needs a bath?

Let's say your MIL always suggested that your child needs a bath and is scratching themselves. But when you're with your child, it just doesn't seem to happen ever. But somehow with MIL it's always a thing. Would that eventually wind you up ?

I bathe my child every night and in my presence, my child never scratches themselves. But somehow every time child sees MIL, there is always this thing.

MIL doesn't actually look after child a lot. Once every month maybe. But somehow there's always these comments and it's really frustrating because it doesn't happen at home / nursery.

It would annoy me, but I think I would say "I have no idea why, MIL, but every time DC sees you, he/she starts scratching. I can't work out why. What washing powder/perfume (or whatever) do you use? Or maybe you've got fleas" tinkly laugh.

Throw it back. Every time she mentions it, reiterate it only happens around her.

It would wind me up yes. I'd say "oh how strange, this never happens when DC is with me, do you bathe/wash DC MIL when they are spending the night?" 😂

They must be allergic to her

I'm confused as to why an itchy child needs a bath?!
Although if you bathe them every day maybe their skin is a little dry?
My DS has eczema and we were told not to bathe too often.

As PPs have said though, sounds like they're reacting to something your MIL wears or uses (like a perfume or cream).

Does she have a pet?

Ha yup

Does she mean scratching their body, arse, or rubbing their genitals?
body, I’d say allergy, fleas, lying on scratchy carpet
arse, are they not wiping properly, if not is she rushing dc or can they reach the loo roll
genitals, I wouldn’t leave them there if it doesn’t happen elsewhere
