The 1:1 Diet

I have a friend who has come down a few dress sizes on the one2one diet and they have been bugging me to join up because i need to trim down a bit too. I wanted to check out some of the products and buy some myself but the website says: "The 1:1 Diet business is made up of a devoted network of Consultants who provide support, flexible weight loss Plans, Products and business opportunities. This is done through unique, personal one-to-one support, otherwise known as direct selling and is the only way dieters can access the diet."

Doesn't this sound like a pyramid scheme? I am a bit concerned for my friend now.

Not one I've got experience of, but it definitely sounds like a pyramid scheme

Probably is a pyramid scheme if you join to become a consultant. BUT the diet really works. Average 1 stone weight loss a month. As long as you’re just losing weight and not consulting you’ll be fine. This diet was recommended to me by the weight loss clinic run by my GP surgery, the woman there had lost 7 stone in as many months.

Agree it sounds like a pyramid scheme as well.

The thing is my friend is asking me to join, it really seems suspect to me. Surely if they were legit you could directly buy the products from the company?

What products are required? Dieting requires LESS products (ie food). I can see the benefit of a coach but any diet products are a rip off really.

My friend is a registered consultant.

She has various snack bars and packet mixes (I'm guessing protein shakes)

I think it's a replacement diet so you would need someone to tell you when to eat each product and how much etc.

Just selling the bars wouldn't necessarily work.

With these forms of diets only certain people will get the benefits as you HAVE to stick to it! Like a lot of diets!

I do believe they work though

If you can afford it then try it.

I workout a lot so don't need it and have never personally tried it.

My friend who sells it has been overweight her whole life and still is. She has a busy and demanding home life so maybe she just enjoys food and doesn't want to diet? I don't know it's not something I've asked her

So how does she make the bulk of her money? By recruiting other people?

I assume the whole plan costs more than the bars etc.

I've never been part of pyramid schemes so I don't know if this is one or not

She has good part time job and also sells tropic

Currently on the 1:1 diet again after putting weight back on having a baby.
I suppose you could look at it qs a pyramid scheme but not once in the 3 "consultants" I've been under not a single one has tried to recruit me. It's simply a monitored diet there are other diets similar like exante where to just but the products online and do it yourself but the way 1:1 diet works is you have someone to contact wheb you're struggling and effectively have someone to answer to each week so keeps you motivated to keep losing. It's very well managed with medical issue taken into account and you work your way up the steps til you just do maintenance at which point if you wanted to you can see your consultant 6 monthly to check you are able to maintain.
I personally have have never done maintenance plan and have just left when I'm at my goal.
I have found for me It's the only thing that works and I never gain it all back at all and maintained for 3 years before having a baby. It hasn't caused an unhealthy relationship with food either I have, once I'm at maintenance, a takeaway once a week, breakfast out with friends once a month and eat what I fancy and don't calorie count just using moderation.
