help me not to get scammed ( Taylor swift )

Confused2990 · 05/08/2023 19:38

Hi
like so many we failed to secure Taylor swift tickets, never ever managed to secure a code so had no chance 🤣
I have a DD who will be 10 soon who is absolutely desperate to go and I would like to make it possible even if means paying way more than we should. However we are not “ well off “ and can not really afford to be scammed.
can anyone help with what legit sites you can buy tickets from people who are re selling. So many come up on search but I’m sure that most are not allowed ?
thank you in advance

As far as I am aware the tickets for this are named and therefore aren't transferable

Isseywith3witchycats · 05/08/2023 19:44

Ticketmaster have always been reliable for me

Confused2990 · 05/08/2023 19:44

@Poppysmom22 I read conflicting information on that it doesn’t seem very clear :(

Just use twickets, I’ve used it loads and never had an issue.

matchamate · 05/08/2023 20:00

You can't. You have to go with the named person on the ticket. So you'd have to find someone who's name matches.

LizzoBorden · 05/08/2023 20:02

The above is incorrect. The only lead booked tickets are the VIP packages. You can buy resale on AXS with no worries.

DaisyAndDonaldDuck · 05/08/2023 20:03

TicketMaster and AXS are the only legitimate sites allowing resale (as tickets were originally sold through them) but I’m unsure if you need a code or not for resale.

Anywhere else you could easily be scammed and even if you received the tickets you could be rejected at the gate as they weren’t resold properly.

You’d be better off waiting until nearer the time when it’s likely there won’t be a code needed anymore.

Womencanlift · 05/08/2023 20:03

I don’t think this will be a usual concert so I would stay away from any resale sites that are not Ticketmaster or AXS who are the official sellers

There was conflicting information on whether this is a lead booker event. Transfer (and therefore resale) will be available but only on those two sites

Womencanlift · 05/08/2023 20:06

I know a lot of MN don’t like Tattle but there is a good thread on there about the tour (and in no way the usual bitchy and gossipy chat that most people think Tattle is - it’s all about tickets, outfits and how many friendship bracelets people are making).

But it does have loads of good and up to date advice on the whole ticketing system and what is available where

crapactually · 05/08/2023 20:06

Just Ticketmaster and AXS. I don't know how much they'll enforce it but I read that tickets sold elsewhere (like twitter) will be cancelled.

Sad for the people ripped off by touts and chancers but I hope they do it to send a message.

crapactually · 05/08/2023 20:07

matchamate · 05/08/2023 20:00

You can't. You have to go with the named person on the ticket. So you'd have to find someone who's name matches.

That's not true. You can transfer or resell through the agent you originally bought from.

SnailAndAWhale · 05/08/2023 20:10

It is no longer a lead booker event and both ticketmaster and AXS have confirmed tickets will be transferable. I have tickets via AXS bought in the midnights presale and there is now a ‘sell’ option on my tickets via the AXS app. Resale started on the 1st, you don’t need a code for it. You do need to check often as obviously you don’t know when people will put their tickets up for resale and they’re snapped up pretty quickly once they are.

Ticketmaster and AXS were the only official sellers, so buying through their resale is probably your safest best out of all the resale options. They also capped their resale value so it’s not horrendous up priced from the face value.

good luck!

Confused2990 · 05/08/2023 20:12

Ah ok thank you that’s very helpful !!
ideally we would need a wheelchair space but I doubt that will even be possible at this point so may have to figure away of managing without the chair for her if I manage to get any on resale 🙉 it’s the first concert she has ever asked to see and I didn’t realise how hard it would be haha

thebellagio · 05/08/2023 20:20

You can only buy tickets through axs and ticketmaster which were the only places to buy in the first place.

their resale tickets are capping sale prices so they match face value. It’s the ONLY way to make sure you’re not scammed.

I had an email from AXS last week telling me I could now sell my tickets through them if I wanted and that nearer the time I could change the names on the ticket

Confused2990 · 05/08/2023 21:50

Well I went on to axs and not sure they protect you from over priced tickets.
vip one’s usual sale available on ticket master ( can’t buy as no code ) for 600 odd

normal resale tickets on axs minimum 800 pound plus for non vip tickets

OP posts:
Egggywegggy · 05/08/2023 21:59

I have 2 tickets via axs and can confirm they are transferable (it shows in my account)
Apparently only axs and ticketmaster are allowed resellers to stop the tout profiteering

KingOfThieves · 05/08/2023 22:01

Resale is only officially going through ticketmaster and axs. If you need accessibile seats it could be worth calling the venue and seeing if they can advise you in anyway

Lapflop · 05/08/2023 22:03

Axs and ticketmaster, I'd contact them and/or venues to see what the deal is with any accessible seats whether they'll go onto the resales or be sold separately. As a last resort Twickets is reliable too though as you need to show proof you have the tickets when you list them, you can only sell them for face value (so puts off scammers and touts) and if for whatever reason you don't recieve the tickets you get reimbursed and some compensation.

Lapflop · 05/08/2023 22:03

None of the other resale sights though, steer well clear!

Womencanlift · 05/08/2023 22:14

They are capping resale prices so people cannot get scammed. Not sure how it works but the regular tickets left for sale are ridiculous so the ones you have seen are likely resells of already high priced tickets

Regular priced ones (still over £100 per ticket for the majority of seats) mostly went at the pre sale. The pricing structure of the general, but needing a code, sale was a bit all over the place

YouveGotAFastCar · 05/08/2023 22:18

Keep your eye on ticketmaster. I’m not sure if it’s still the case but all last week they were doing mini releases. A friend was pretty unhappy that tickets she paid £600 for a few weeks before were being sold for £120 🥴

I’d second the suggestion of contacting venues you could get to about the policy for accessible tickets, too, you might be able to get some that way

DarkDarkNight · 05/08/2023 22:31

I got an email from AXS that ticket resale was open the other day. If theirs is, Ticketmaster will probably be open for resales too. They were the official ticket sellers so as long as you buy from them it will be legit. You don’t need to worry about the lead booker then, it’s all official.

As others have said if you need accessible contact AXS/Ticketmaster, or try the venues themselves. A lot might have gone though Sad.

Did you have a code at all because someone posted on here the VIP tickets had been changed back to normal pricing.

Good luck!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 05/08/2023 22:38

@Confused2990

For wheelchair spaces you almost exclusively need to contact the venue direct for information and tickets. Look up each venues that you can attend feasibly and get their disability access line and speak direct. You need proof of disability as well. You may well still be in luck.

Nn9011 · 05/08/2023 22:41

Unfortunately there's no real way to 100% be sure you won't be scammed but some things you can do are:
Avoid twitter and other social media adverts, try to buy through people you know or are put in touch with
Never pay by bank transfer - always pay PayPal and always chose pay a business/goods/services
If it's much cheaper than it would normally be it's a scam
If they say you need to pay their partner/family member/other 3rd part it's a scam

Confused2990 · 05/08/2023 23:13

Thank you - I will give the venue a call. My only other option is trying through a charity wish charity that we are waiting to hear from 🙈
wish everyone else luck who is trying to !
