To think that wall-to-wall news coverage of the 'earthquake' is way OTT?

Tragic events are happening every hour around the world, and now 'we go live to Mrs so-and-so who's got some soot on her carpet...' Boo fucking hoo
It's making my blood boil.
And absolutely NO mention today of poor wee missing Shannon.
The news is a disgrace today

YANBU!
Lived in Turkey for three years and saw much worse than that lastnight!

There was plenty of Shannon on our news today- sure you didn't miss the slot?

course they're going to cover it- tehre was a smaller one in Somerset a few years back, took out our shed window and woke some old bloke i think, but they were interviewing poeple in the town.

People are interested.

i did nearly crash the car laughing when the radio 1 newsreader announced as the first story 'a teenager in barnsley is facing surgery after his leg was broken by a chimney pot knocked off the roof by the earthquake'. on what planet is a lad in yorkshire with a broken leg national news???

hellsbells76 · 27/02/2008 19:38

it was more the glee that they'd finally found a real live human victim of the earthquake having spent the last two hours trying to create shock-horror news out of a few tiles falling off people's rooves...

As Fern Britten said on This Morning 'It is a very british earthquake, no one was injured nothing much happen. But we will discuss it for days to come.'

I feel she may be right .
