I keep seeing repetitive numbers.. have I finally gone batshit?

The last time this happened was four years ago .
For about two months I kept seeing 1111, 1212, 1515,1717 randomly in all different t sitautions.
It freaked me out.

When I finally copped the repetitiveness of the sequences, I found out about my husbands affair. He left. Our lives blew up as we knew it. Moved homes, moved schools .. everything. It was hellish.

Things has settled substantially.
My kids, two with mild SN are doing really well. My eldest starts Uni soon.
My love life is non existent but I'm now open to something casual. I've had a casual fling but his life is too complex for me to even begin to describe. Too much drama so that's over.

For the last few weeks, these sequences have started up out of nowhere.
I do pray to my guardian angels every night.. just asking for guidance and to mind us and support me in being a good parent.
Ex has nothing to do with kids now.

I'm not looking for these numbers specifically but I see them in many contexts. Have I finally gone bananas or is there more to this in your experience.

It's a widespread human trait to seek meaning and significance. I think it's especially triggered at times of stress - a bit like a mental version of grabbing on to handrails when a boat gets wobbly.

Numbers have meaning too, check out numerology. Its fascinating. but only for the open minded, who are very few and far between on mumsnet.

Life is full of conincidences. I am bipolar I know when I'm high I see lots of them. This is because I am hyper alert to them. So I notice when the clock is 22:22 or 10.01 or 13.13 obviously throughout the day there are 100s of possibilities of these occurring. When I am a bit manic I notice them and read meaning into them. When I am level I ignore them as actually they mean fuck all.
It doesn't mean you are crazy just that you are over thinking bollocks.

They're messages from your guardian angel. Google them to find out what they mean/which resonates

It's the same thing when you decide to buy a particular make/model of car or breed of dog and you start seeing them everywhere!

It's the part of the brain called the Reticular Activating System and it's role is to filter out unimportant stuff and draws your attention to things that your mind deems worthy of your attention.

Maybe you started looking for number sequences to give you some familiarity in your stressful life, maybe it's just random but it's nothing to worry about.

This. It’s like a Facebook algorithm of the mind.

My DB is on the ASD spectrum. He notices car number plates and the patterns of the letters and numbers in them. Also patterns in numbers he sees around him in general dates in particular. He is drawn to them. Sometimes more than others.

Lovethewinter · 02/08/2023 19:38

I have OCD and like a previous poster said, I start seeing numbers like this when it's starting to be more of a problem for a while. It's the brain latching onto it and you start noticing more than you normally would!

GrannieD · 02/08/2023 19:43

11.11 and 1234 for me. I do think it's a communication from someone who has passed.

Nolongera · 02/08/2023 19:47

How does Google know what these angel codes are?

GrumpyOldCrone · 02/08/2023 19:54

I see 666 a lot.

It’s one thing to notice patterns, but I think fixating on them is rarely a good thing. The people in my life who see signs or messages in these patterns are, without exception, suffering from mental illness.

I love a neuro-anatomical explanation 😁 👌🏼
