To be annoyed most jobs don’t seem to show salaries

I’m not looking at high flying ‘negotiate the salary’ jobs. It’s a job were the pay varies from quite entry level to moderate, but it’s really hard to work out how the company is grading it- even when looking at the JD.
It can be £11ph, I’m at £21, but I’ve found one paying £26 before. It’s also a part time one where people tend to take on lots of these small roles and combine them, ï currently work with 5 places regularly and cover more.
It’s just so annoying to waste time and effort to find out they are grading the post reality low!
Looking at other private sector jobs it seems more don’t have a salary than do! It’s keeping me in local authority work because it’s so frustrating

YANBU, drove me nuts when last looking - I work in a field where the same type of job title can vary hugely in pay, I was looking for £45k+ but a lot of jobs could have paid anywhere between £30-55, you just didn't know. Including the one I got, I was kind of on tenterhooks when they made the offer but luckily I was correct in assuming it would meet my needs as it was a large, profitable business so I took a guess it would be worth my time.

My company are currently advertising roles with a' competitive salary'- the reality is minimum wage so quite what that's competing with is beyond me. People have asked why they won't put salaries on adverts and HR came up with some bullshit about ' not having the right framework in place.' There's me thinking you'd just need to type the numbers!

YANBU. I think it should be illegal for private sector jobs at least to not state a range- as I believe public sector jobs have to.

I think they should also have to state the hours and the basis of the contract (15 hours, 20 hours, zero hours), otherwise it discriminates against people who have other responsibilities or more frequently these days, another job! This was such a waste of time when I was looking for part time work but couldn't do every hour under the sun, with small children, school etc. I remember phoning someone up about a part time catering role in a care home and they couldn't say what hours they needed. Basically it would be zero hours and you could be working at any time of day or for as many hours as they felt like. Really stupid as with that sort of work surely there would be regular meal times and staff should be able to have regular shifts?

This is so annoying, i'm not job hunting but get sent jobs from LinkedIn quite often, with no pay scales. Wouldn't bother enquiring even if i was looking.

The last 2 jobs i've had, have been via an agency calling me on the off chance i might be looking, so i got to tell them my salary/package expectations before i even applied.

... and then they use it against you when you ask in the early stages what the pay is.

"We'll tell you after you've jumped through a million hoops"

YANBU. It’s hugely annoying. I want to know whether something is a waste of my time before I apply. Employers asking for your salary expectations instead is just them trying to get you on the cheap

The worst are ones that state a salary however that salary is only for the ones who can male 10 sales in five minutes so you end up on a very very low pay... I did full time and each month after tax got a little over 800 pound that had to pay all bills rent etc so after 6 months asked if pay could be increased as I was literally working for nothing 2 weeks and putting it on credit card told I could ask in a few years maybe 2 or 3 so had to leave but they gave awful reference that I wasn't dedicated to job ffs
