Not sure this is the correct topic but I need to try..
My daughter has been getting bites all over her for the last 2 weeks and I cannot work out where they’re coming from!
They can be anywhere on her body, turn up in the day or night, very itchy for her, some have been crusting over (I think the ones she has scratched a lot) and last for about a week before healing.
we have recently moved in with family so I have searched everywhere for any signs of bedbugs - I can’t find any insects, shells, black marks etc. Last night I put double sided tape all around her bed to try to catch anything but no insects at all on it this morning. There is a cat here so I’ve been checking for fleas and I haven’t seen anything jump in her room, also left out trays of water last night and no insects there either.
No one else has any bites.
What do you think they could be? Or is it time to call the pest control people?
Thanks in advance!

No we’re in Manchester. Are midge bites just from being outside? Thanks for your response!

I'm with pp, that looks like midges, I definitely wouldn't nuke the place just yet. I think if it was something in the house she would have more bites and others would have them, plus you haven't seen any evidence. Sounds more like an odd midge is getting trapped under her clothing, some of us attract them more than others.
There's lots of things she can put on to deter them. Vicks vapour rub, peppermint oil have a Google and see if you have any at home.
It can alternatively be hives, a reaction to washing powder, foods or chemicals in the house. It just doesn't look like there's a lot of them in the pictures to be that though.

Thank you! I’m going to try all the things. I would definitely rather they were midge bites than bed bugs, I feel so bad for her though it’s like she’s taking the bites for all of us

I should say that cider vinegar is fantastic for bites it will ease the itching and pain and disinfect the bites. It may sting for a sp!it second. Also witch hazel is brilliant as well, both will cool the area.
Creams feel nice for a few seconds but then they heat up the skin.

If the cat isn’t treated every month with anti-flea drops such as Frontline/Advocate/Advantage, it will be fleas. You won’t see fleas although you may if the cat sleeps on a white sheet notice black specks (flea poo) on the sheet.

If the cat is regularly treated then I dunno maybe mosquitoes
