Thought I was going to be able to do it but I’ve been logged in an hour. Dripping in sweat with bodyaches. But no one else can do my job that is in today :(

Tbh, as long as I could concentrate, I'd take something to lower my temperature/for flu, sit on front of a fan and see how I go. But you could contact your manager and say that you are struggling, so might have to take sick leave.

That's not your problem. If you're ill, you're ill. If you can't work, then call in sick

HamSandwichKiller · 31/07/2023 09:04

I've wfh through Covid twice and it totally sucks. Take painkillers, drink plenty and eat whatever you fancy. Do what needs to be done. Don't expect to do a normal working day basically. Nap over lunch if you need to (it made me feel worse tbh) and log off asap. 2-3 days and it won't feel so bad.

I had to take sick leave while wfh with covid - granted I went back to work earlier than if I was going into the office, but for 2-3 days I could not have concentrated enough to do my job properly
if you’re sick, you’re sick, just call your manager and explain
and if you do have to work make sure they know you’re not able to give your usual and you will need to take breaks

Go off sick. It’s not your fault that there isn’t cover. You will just make recovery longer so you are less productive in work for longer. I made this mistake (not with Covid) of wfh when I felt awful. I wouldn’t have gone to the office.

If you dropped dead what would happen? People always muddle through. You are sick and poor planning on your companies part does not constitute an emergency for you. Your manager should be able to step and he extremely grateful that you tried to work despite being ill. You're going above and beyond for a company that would rather see you work whole very sick. Doesn't sound balanced.
