To ask how much it costs for a person living alone per month

I am trying to budget for potentially living on my own. I am wondering how much money I will need to have to be able to afford it. After mortgage/rent payments, how much is a reasonable budget for bills, home insurance, food etc per month for one person living on their own?

I am happy living frugally (and did so as a student) so I don't mind not living a life of luxury, but I don't want to be excessively stressed every month about finances either.

Very much a 'how long is a piece of string' question.

Council tax can vary massively one area from another, and one home from another - if you are alone in your house you would get a single person discount, but if you are in a house share, you won't.
Utilities - again varies hugely. Not so easy to be frugal with, due to the high standing charges. It is frustrating not to have your heating on, and still seeing the amount you owe on your gas bill.
Water bill
Buildings and contents insurance
Your commute - going to be huge variations
Running a car? - huge variations
Food and other groceries (toilet paper, cleaning products, toothpaste, shampoos etc) - yes, you could live on less, but long term you have to allow £50 pw
Occasional things like haircuts, replacing shoes or underwear
TV license
Mobile phone
Broadband
TV package or streaming service ?
Clothes and shoes - you can 'not buy' for a couple of years if need, be, but there comes a time you have to replace things
A contingency fund for emergencies, like the fridge or boiler breaking down
A 'savings' fund to build up to replace those things, over time
Some sort of 'treat' for yourself, in whatever form that takes - yes you can do without short term, but there comes a point when living hand to mouth becomes difficult

If you’ve lived frugally as a student, surely you know about food costs?

Ditto clothes and hair and socialising type stuff.

Council tax is too variable to say and you can answer that yourself better.
