Unusual discharge, early pregnancy. To worry?

Hi everyone,
I posted this in the pregnancy section but I don't think many saw it so posting here for more traffic. Sorry!

I'm 5 + 4 weeks and for over a week I've been having strange discharge. Sorry if TMI but at my wits end and looking for some wisdom and experiences.

Basically it's only on wiping and having only very mild period type pains now and again. None today, some that lasted about half an hour yesterday morning. Like that, very sporadic but mild pain.

The usual spotting seems to be brown and stringy but on occasion I'm seeing very very light pink too. That's less of a mucous and more liquidy. Very very light though and only on wiping.

Has anyone experienced this and been ok? For full disclosure I was having investigations done for irregular bleeding before my bfp and this was diagnosed as cervical erosion and spotted by the gp during a physical exam. Could this be the cause? I know epu won't entertain me so early but I feel so terribly anxious.

Hi everyone. Sorry for graphic post. I'm very worried. I am 6 weeks pregnant following a round of IVF and today I've had this discharge a few times. Has anyone else experience this ?

I had this with my first born from 5 weeks pregnant until 18 weeks - all was fine :) if it happens again ring GP to have an early pregnancy scan x

I had an early pregnancy scan at 8 weeks and they detected a heartbeat - not sure if you can any earlier.

Do you have a midwife advice line? If so, give them a call and they'll give you more advice. Sending lots of love xxxx

Hi @Pinkprincess209 . Sorry to hear you're experiencing this too. I started the initial thread and for me it didn't end well however I know this can also be quite common and totally harmless too. If you're 6 weeks in my area you'd get an early scan for reassurance. Call your epu and ask what is available in your area. Try not to worry, this doesn't always mean bad news!!

I had first scan at 5 weeks and they couldn’t see heartbeat (too early) so I had to go back at 7 weeks…it was the worst 2 weeks of waiting but heart beat was seen at 7 weeks. I had so many scans as I bled for half the pregnancy but all turned out fine. Really hoping it works out well for you too xx

On one occasion I also went straight to a&e (where they had an early pregnancy unit on site) and they sent me straight round to there. I remember the first time I saw the blood discharge and I automatically thought the worse especially as I had it every day but it doesn’t always end in heartache xx

My stomach feel very heavy but I think that's the nerves :(

It could also be implantation spotting and that causes some cramps too

How did you get on?

@Cleo09 they did an early scan everything was fine and a heart beat was found. So fingers crossed I continue to carry a healthy baby !!
