To keep quiet about pregnancy on holiday

early in first trimester. We have told our families basically straight away with previous pregnancies (we have 2 DCs) but

this was very unexpected, I still feel like I’m trying to get my head round it and would like to keep it to myself for now.

the dilemma we are having is we are going on holiday tomorrow with the whole extended family. Over ten of us including kids, grandparents, cousins, aunties etc. we are staying at my parents house.

I don’t really want to drop the bombshell on holiday, or just before (there are 100 reasons having another baby isn’t a great idea for us at the moment but also plenty of reasons this is good news too). However it is inevitably going to be difficult to explain when I turn down a glass of wine in a bloody French vineyard.

not going to lie I’m 32 and don’t want to tell my mum 😂😂😂

WWYD?

(posting in Aibu for traffic because, you know, off tomorrow)

I didn’t tell anyone other than my partner and two close friends until I was 20 weeks, and no one noticed!

I could have given myself away when I asked the offive manager, who was a mother herself, to re-position the bin, because I said it was stinking…, I didn’t know then that being pregnant sharpens your sense of smell. But she didn’t twig.

You had a UTi you are on antibiotics and it was so painful you don't want to risk it. Job done.

Antibiotics is so obviously a cover for pregnancy 🤣

Tell them you are off the wine as the gp thinks it's been causing you migraines ?it's the sulphates in wine that trigger them I think

Pretend to drink 'the wine' tip bits out when they aren't looking, fill said glass with mini bottle of pop from bag that is same colour as the wine & sip that WineHmm

I would definitely accept the glasses of wine and let DH drink them. And if you’re going out for the night/meals where lots of wine will be drunk you could have a headache that night and refuse alcohol. Blame it on too much sun.

Drink something that looks alcoholic but isn't, soda water with ice in a gin glass. Soda, ice and lime in a tumbler as though it's vodka. Heavily diluted bottle green pomegranate and elderflower with cold water in a wine glass etc also pick up but then put down or dispose of alcoholic drinks
