AIBU to expect a refund?

I have signed my son up for a holiday camp next week. It was supposed to be at a school 10 minutes walk from my house and I booked and paid back in May. My confirmation email is a receipt for payment and it also has the school 10 mins away as the venue. However today I got the welcome/reminder stuff through and the venue name is different instead of it being 10 mins walk it is now at a school 50 mins walk away. I have no transport next week and because it was local this is why I signed him up. The terms and conditions state that no refunds are given in any circumstances and I have a feeling they are not going to refund me.

Any idea what my rights are and if AIBU expecting a refund??

Whether or not they emailed previously is irrelevant, you would have just requested your refund earlier. The no refunds thing in these circumstances is absurd and unenforceable.

Check if you were misled into buying something. Misleading selling can include things like:

  • giving you wrong information about the product or service
  • giving you the wrong advice about what product would be best for you
  • wrongly saying you need to buy extra things to make the most of your product
  • exaggerating what the product can do compared to other products
  • advertising something as reduced or a sale item when it wasn't ever sold at full price
  • keeping important information about the product or service hidden or obscured
Even if the seller did these things by mistake, or because they were misinformed, it still counts as misleading selling.

If you were misled or pressured into buying something you didn’t want

You have the legal right to a refund if you feel you were unfairly pressured or misled into buying a product or service.

What did the email they've re-sent say? Is there anything in their terms about changing venue?
