I’ve so far had positive

OP posts:
xxalhxx · 25/07/2023 13:49

I loveee it always on there can't help myself get such bargains buy almost if my baby's tracksuits in there no point spending big when you can get it for less and most are in excellent condition

BookishBabe · 25/07/2023 13:53

No.
I spend way too much money.
Getting dressed that I usually wouldn't buy for myself (£80 to £100 full price), for around £10 plus postage and fees.
Sometimes a little bit more or less and sometimes new with tags.
I've bought myself a whole new wardrobe, clothes I never thought I'd be able to buy.

I have had some duds, bobbling, staining and packaged badly leading to damage. Vinteds return policy is shocking and with £10 items it just isn't worth returning or kicking up a fuss which I think they are probably relying on.

Kimfluencer · 25/07/2023 13:53

I’ve had pretty good experiences with buying and selling on it.

You get better prices as a seller on eBay, but Vinted is much less faff.

As a buyer, Vinted is great. I’ve kitted myself out with a whole work wardrobe of quality brands - Massimo Dutti, Cos, Zara, Calvin Klein, Ted Baker, Jaeger, Hobbs, DKNY, MaxMara - on a budget. Have to know what you’re looking for and your sizes in different brands, and I only go for ‘in very good condition’ items.

SamW98 · 25/07/2023 13:54

I’ve dove very well with both buying and selling.

I like a couple of specific brands so look out for those items with a maximum price set. I usually buy, wear once or twice then resell for not much less than i paid.

BookishBabe · 25/07/2023 13:54

My "no" was meant to be followed by a half hearted emoji of some kind due to me spending too much money.
I forgot to add it and now it's not conveying the right context on my post.

Ladyoftheknight · 25/07/2023 14:20

Yes, I usually spend a lot of money on clothes (never fast fashion), wear them once or twice and sell them on Vinted. I get more money on eBay but vinted is quicker.

Mama678 · 25/07/2023 14:20

Love it!

uncomfortablydumb53 · 25/07/2023 14:22

I love Vinted only once had an item which didn't match my idea of BNWOT
Just yesterday I found a rare pair of my favourite shoes which are hard to get hold of Unworn as too small for seller!
I look for my favourite brand which I know fit me and zoom in carefully on photos

Sarvanga38 · 25/07/2023 14:22

Don't buy much on there, because I'm trying to clear stuff out rather than bring it in, but most of what I have bought has been great.

Love it for selling. Perhaps I'd get more money on eBay, but Vinted is so much easier that I actually do it instead of procrastinating, so things move rather than sitting in an eternal 'I'll sell these one day, honestly' pile. 😆

sunshinesupermum · 25/07/2023 14:51

I'm happy with my sales but have spent most of the money I earned!

Peony654 · 25/07/2023 14:52

Yes generally, I much prefer to eBay. I now tend to only buy new with tags or very good condition clothes as had a few bad experiences with clothes not being as described

Tatzelwyrm · 25/07/2023 14:59

I used to like it until they removed a brand new in box item and accused me of selling secondhand cosmetics, with no opportunity to appeal (it had been on the site for around 4 months, so no idea why they suddenly picked up) - so they can fuck off

xsquared · 25/07/2023 15:04

Yes, I use it to sell and buy.

Much more convenient as a seller than eBay, although I wouldn't use it if selling to get a good price for a high end item. Most of my sales have been less than £10 an item, amd those listed in double figures rarely get views and favourites.

Runssometimes · 25/07/2023 15:11

I’ve got some good things from it but I’m still waiting for an issue to be resolved. I ordered a child’s item and received a women’s jumpsuit, six weeks ago still waiting for my money back. Clearly it’s an issue, they are saying they need to hear back from the couriers, but it’s not my issue and they won’t just refund me. I’ve contacted numerous times. So I’m stuck with an item I didn’t order, don’t want and am out of pocket. And I paid the buyers protection fees. So when it works it’s great but if something goes wrong then beware.

TokyoSushi · 25/07/2023 15:14

I love it! My latest bargain is 'The' Whistles slim fit jersey blazer BNWT for £14!

Superunknown1 · 25/07/2023 15:19

So much more convenient than eBay, listing is super easy and the stuff I’ve listed (mostly vinyl records and music-related shirts and clothing) have sold in a couple of days, some within minutes of listing and have earned a several hundred quid in the time I’ve been doing it!

As a buyer experiences have been good, items often need a freshen up (one seller sent clothes with used lip balm in the pockets and chocolate wrappers but still left good feedback as the item itself was ace.

would really recommend it, wouldn’t go back to eBay now and regret some of the stuff I’ve taken to charity shops that would have sold easily on there!

cocksstrideintheevening · 25/07/2023 15:20

Like selling, can't be bothered buying.

B72 · 25/07/2023 15:22

I love it. I've just collected an item that I ordered from the pick up point and it's perfect.
I've sold a lot of items that were just cluttering up my wardrobe on there with no issues and made quite a bit of money.
Brilliant.

ShellssAndSand · 25/07/2023 15:23

It’s good but the customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced - and many others will say the same.

WehIstMir · 25/07/2023 15:25

My DD (15) uses it a lot to buy and sell clothes - she can refresh her wardrobe cheaply by selling items she no longer likes and she loves browsing the site. Recently I gave her a few clothes from my wardrobe which were still in excellent condition and she took photos and posted them. Vinted threatened her with a ban from the site for trying to sell a pair of black Boden Richmond trousers - if I understood it correctly, they were implying that she wasn't a genuine seller or that the photo had been taken from elsewhere. She is now scared to re-post them as she doesn't want to lose access - but it's a shame as the trousers are great but sadly too tight for me. As a previous poster said, there doesn't seem to be a right to appeal or a way to demonstrate that she is totally genuine.

rejectionsensitivity · 25/07/2023 15:28

I would use it regularly but nowhere in the filters when searching for women’s clothes does it give me options for selecting fabric type, leading to lots of polyester and similar horrors in my search results.

Porridgeislife · 25/07/2023 15:28

Love Vinted. Bought and sold loads. So much easier than eBay.

It has demonstrated to me how much money you lose the first time you wear high street clothes especially the upper end (Whistles etc). Things get sold for an absolute fraction of new price!

jamsandwich1 · 25/07/2023 15:29

I really don’t get the hype and I prefer eBay

xsquared · 25/07/2023 15:40

jamsandwich1 · 25/07/2023 15:29

I really don’t get the hype and I prefer eBay

I use both.

As a seller, Vinted is better for low value items, as you get keep 100% of the sales and not worry about postage.

As a buyer, there's not much in them if you're after BNWT.

fancyfrogs · 25/07/2023 15:41

Love it. I find it very user friendly as both buyer and seller. I fully admit I was never a second hand fan and always bought new, but being on maternity pay and giving it a go has completely changed me. Got some great bargains on there and sold a lot
