What does your endometriosis pain feel like?

Suffering through another period today, I'm curious what this feels like for others. Sitting waiting and hoping for naproxen to start working.

I have never had a baby but this is honestly what I imagine the early stage of labour to feel like. It's like waves that roll in intensity to an aching peak where it feels unbearable for a few seconds, then starts to go back down, I get relief for a few seconds, then it all starts again.

Also have an awful sensation of needing to poo basically the whole time even though I don't actually need to go, which is fucking unpleasant.

My legs go weird a day or two before, they lose strength and I get aching stretching feelings running down the back of my thighs.

What is yours like?

Early contractions, lower back pain, nausea and legs like jelly.

I had a similar experience - I nearly got sent home from a&e because I was told I wasn't exhibiting enough pain for it to be anything serious.

Luckily they still took bloods and 5 mins after the results I was in a bed on morphine for acute pancreaitis and on the emergency surgery list.

I rated the pain 3/10 compared to my normal period pains :/ it's disgraceful there's so little support for this!

Omg you could have died. Im so sorry 😞 but glad you are ok x

Feels like someone is twisting my uterus. Like they are wringing it out like a towel until they can't twist it anymore.

I find one of the worst symptoms I get with it is the heavy, dragging feeling like all the organs in my lower abdomen are being pulled downwards. Even when the pain isn't so bad that sensation just makes me feel so heavy and gross and uncomfortable.

That and the sharp stabbing sensations in the vagina/bum. We call it butthole lighting in my house.

You go a white grey colour.

Worked with a lady unable to have children thin as a rake bless her. A hysterectomy was the next thing for her despite desperately wanting children in her early 30’s. It took 7 years to get under a laparoscopy. Very painful I understand if hoping for children.

Oh god, reading these posts, I thought it was normal... I thought everyone felt like that with periods 😳 I'm 44 now, haven't had a period for a year, and loving it.

I had to medicate every month, use heat therapy, sometimes pass out with the pain, have to call in sick at times, not able to leave the house for heavy bleeding... and yep, it was like labour.

Safa2 · 07/06/2024 10:31

anyone here who has been diagnosed help me with symptoms as it surely can’t be this bad every single day.. the symptoms I have are
pelvic pain even when not on periods
leg aches every day
bowel issues like mucus from bottom (sorry if tmi)
when I do have periods it lasts 2weeks
inner thighs aches a lot
bloating
fatigue
mood swings
9)bad spots on my face !
i do have the mirina coil in also which has helped somewhat but can this be endo or something more sinister

thanks

I'm on the waiting list for a diagnostic lap for suspected endo but I suffer with:
Painful cramps
Back pain (starts lower, but radiates up and down)
Pain down legs (tingling, sluggish and achy, shooting, burning)
Pelvic pain (stabbing, burning, crampy)
Brain fog
Chronic fatigue
Severe bloating
Constant feeling to wee
Pain in cervix and ovaries in varying degrees

Sex can cause discomfort with mild shooting pains in pelvis afterwards. And I can absolutely guarantee my symptoms will flare for a few days afterwards.
Even cleaning or walking can aggravate my symptoms and leave me needed heat therapy and painkillers.

I could have written this post myself. Have an appointment for a pelvic ultrasound in a couple of weeks. My GP didn't mention endo, just said fibroids, cysts. Have you had any tests at all yet?
