To kill all the spiders in my shed

I'm not usually afraid of spiders but I'm in the process of moving everything out of my shed to put into a new one and I'm worried I'm going to get bitten by a nasty false widow if accidently disturb one. There's so much mess in the shed that I'm worried I won't see them. AIBU to just use a spray in there to kill them. I do feel bad but also really like unpunctured pain free skin.

Cover your skin, so long sleeves, socks and trousers, and wear a pair of gloves.
Put the stuff out in the garden to give them time to escape. You’ll be fine.
Unless this is a drip feed and you’re in Aus 😂

No - not in Australia! In the south of the UK. Good tips - I've got gloves - putting stuff in the garden first is a good idea!

I plug in a hairdryer on an extension, switch it to cold and give it a good blast - then the spiders run away!

isthismylifenow · 24/07/2023 12:12

Please don't kill them.

They do good. Eating all the bugs you also don't want around.

As suggested, leave the things out for a bit. They will soon move on to a safer spot.

SunRainStorm · 24/07/2023 12:14

Don't kill them. Put on some gloves and stop being a sook!

I'm in australia and I wouldn't even contemplate killing a shed full of spiders minding their own business.

Mummy08m · 24/07/2023 12:15

If you do, prepare yourself for a swarm of flies and mosquitoes to descend on your house.

That's not me cursing you like Moses cursing the Egyptians lol, just practical fact - the spiders are working hard eating them for you!

CallMeDiaz · 24/07/2023 12:15

Oh FGS just leave them alone!

Yep and the added advanrage is no freeloaders get a free trip to the new shed.

Spookyseasonmum · 24/07/2023 12:18

Maybe spray some peppermint oil or fragrance around the shed, they absolutely hate it and should leave

difficultlemons · 24/07/2023 12:19

Please don't kill them 😔

And a woolly hat.

Please don't ask why I make this suggestion.

Never got bitten, though. Just a near heart attack.

SoSoSoSo · 24/07/2023 12:21

YABVU. Don't kill them. You're very unlikely to get bitten and they're so important to the ecosystem. Put some gloves on if you're that worried.

Emmamoo89 · 24/07/2023 12:23

Don't kill them

Jongleterre · 24/07/2023 12:25

If you scare them away they might run into your house!

goodgodlemon · 24/07/2023 12:30

ok hat a good idea too. I'll take the nasty stuff out of my Amazon basket!
