To let you know about the Govts response to the independent pregnancy loss review? TW miscarriage

I hear about this report on the news today. It really sounds like groundbreaking steps forwards in compassionate care to women and families experiencing miscarriage. My experience having had multiple losses was very poor and I felt I was 'left to get on with things'. Hopefully the future experiences of women going through this awful tragedy will now improve.

On a side note @MNHQ can the miscarriage and pregnancy loss topic be moved to the pregnancy boards instead of being hidden down the back of the sofa in body and soul? Or are we going to perpetuate the stigma and silence around miscarriage and pregnancy loss? There are plenty of threads started on the pregnancy boards around miscarriage so I can't understand why the topic itself isn't under the same umbrella as all the other becoming a parent topics.

👏👏👏 I was delighted to see this on social media. What an amazing step forward. I lost my son at 33 weeks of pregnancy, but I have a lot of friends with losses before 24 weeks and this is huge. Massive step in the right direction.

@Littlelighthouse that must have been devastating for you. I hope you were well supported by the maternity service at your hospital.
Hopefully with this guidance pregnancy loss and miscarriage will be less traumatic for women.

Yes I read this and I think that it’s leaps and bounds.

I had several losses over the last six years and to be frank the care was piss poor from every angle.

I once had a GP question my mental health (I mean I had had a miscarriage so what do you expect) and turf me into the waiting room sobbing because my appointment time was up.

When I had a scan to confirm miscarriage in the EPU, the put in me in the tiny “bereavement room” next door to the scan room. The wall was so thin I could hear the next lady having her scan and told her baby was ok, even heard the heartbeat.

I really hope these guidelines help to prevent things like this
