Wet feeling down there (19 weeks)

Hi,

So I just felt a bit more wet down there than usual and went to the toilet. I was wearing a panty liner so can't be sure on exact quantities as it kind of blends into the liner due to it being colourless. It's clear and wet. It didn't go through the liner.

Could this be my waters slowly breaking? Feel anxious 🙁.

didn't want to read and run... its been a long time since I was pregnant, but could be more vaginal secretions and nothing to worry about. Is everything else ok? I would phone your maternity unit just to put your mind at rest

Hiya! First step, deep breath! Secondly, increased discharge is so so normal during the first trimester! It's deeply unhelpful as ANY wetness make you so anxious, but really it is most likely to be totally harmless ♥️ I had a lot of increased discharge, and I wore period pants my whole pregnancy. Phone your midwife if you want a little extra support (I got LOADS as I was a nervous wreck) but try not to worry xxx

It's a simple swab at MAU. Call them. Likely all is normal and I know it's tempting to wait until Monday but waters can recover themselves if they do break early. Infection is the main risk so get seen now and take the advice. In meantime, pop on a bigger pad and just take medical advice. They'll reassure you way more than Mumsnet can

Definitely phone your midwife but for me it was a lot of discharge and bladder issues

Allchangehereagain · 22/07/2023 20:13

Please go to get it checked as soon as you can. Could be totally normal but could also be a sign of infection which can be easily cleared up. I left it too late and lost my ivf twins to an infection at 20 weeks and feeling damp was my only symptom.

Does it smell sweet? If so, it could be amniotic fluid and best to get checked out. It may just seal up again.
